Charnwood Surgery derby

The doctors i have seen have been very professional and understanding so i would highly recommend those. However the copd nurse would benefit from a lesson or two in manners .apart from that very good experience.

Phoned today @ 12:20 18/08/2019 to make an appointment, recorded message to saying surgery is closed for staff training until 8.00am 19/09/2019. Joke of a surgery.

I have been with this practice since birth and I have always said how good it was but I'm afraid I can't say this anymore. I find it almost impossible to book online and trying to get through on the phone is ridiculous. What has happened to this practice?

Reception staff lack any sense of personality. How is it when I have an early appointment first thing, the Dr can still be running more than half an hour behind? Ridiculous service. On a positive note.. The Dr I did see was very good in all respects.

I find it difficult to put into words how frustrating this practice is. The doctors have put themselves on a pedestal and cannot be contacted by patients. They run the practice as their own personal fiefdom and don't give a dam about their patients. I honestly think they are only in the job for the ridiculously high salary. They are also very quick to refer you to a specialist (for a fee) and this no doubt bolsters their already inflated salary. I wouldn't pay them in washers. The only way to get an appointment is to stand outside the surgery at 8:00am and get face to face contact with the receptionist. Even then, they often say all the appointments have gone. When you ask for an appointment for the following day they say 'all the appointments are locked until 8:00m the following day'. Ridiculous! The reception staff asks for details of your illness which should be confidential between the doctor and patient. If you tell them this, they become abusive and hang up the phone. The practice manager is impossible to talk to on the phone and never returns calls. When I have managed to talk to her, she is condescending, boorish and does not listen. She is only ever on 'transmit mode' never 'receive'. Often when I manage to contact the practice, I cannot hear what the receptionist is saying due to the horrendous background noise of other staff laughing and joking. If this was a business in the private sector, not supported by tax payers, it wouldn't last five minutes.

Awful ......they prolonged my diagnosis of having cancer by some doctor telling me I was fine .....I had to fight with them for nearly 2 months to get it sorted even tho I had a scan to tell me that everything was not ok ....doctor ignored that ....I tried to leave the practice but was told it would take 6 weeks before they handed my notes over .....has it got any better there no .....you can't see a doctor at mo but they can call you in for a medication review offer you no appointments then stop ya medication ....the reception team are the rudest I've ever come across in my life .....it took them 2 yrs to get a prescription right even tho I kept showing them what the specialist had recommended and they still kept getting it wrong..... if you value your life I strongly recommend you leave

They are absolutely rude in the reception I am trying to book an appointment since last week with no success always telling me to call at 8.00 but no one there to pick up the phone always busy tone and after an hour of trying and I get through the re receptionist told no appointment available today try to call tomorrow and this is 7 working days the same things doing every day just keep calling then no appointment try tomorrow The receptionist was very rude and shouted to me I feel very disappointed from this surgery My have has blood test results for diabetes group two and we had sms from the surgery asking us to book appointment to see the doctor not pharmacist Then when we try to book appointment NO appointment available so what on earth I have to do to see the Doctor

4th September 2020 waited 28 minutes to get through to reception just to be told no appointments available, call back Monday - receptionist wasn't interested, even though id explained 111 told me to call them ASAP, receptionist was very rude, hope this closes for the good of Derby

Receptionists are very unprofessional and rude .
