I can't speak highly enough of this hairdresser. Charlie Miller is the best and I have been coming here for years. Lynsey is particularly brilliant and is great at understanding my needs and she always always makes my hair feel and look amazing! I have had cut, colour and hair up done here and I always leave very happy. I can't recommend them enough. It is a lovely luxury experience coming to Charlier Miller to get my hair done and I will keep coming back. All the staff are super friendly and I always feel looked after here.

I have been a client of Charlie Millers for a number of years now, and would not wish to go anywhere else. Hannah has looked after me throughout this time, providing both excellent care and well considered advice. I cannot recommend her highly enough, as a skilled professional and a warm and friendly person, who genuinely cares about making her clients both look and feel their best. Everyone in the salon is friendly and welcoming, making it a pleasureable, relaxing retreat for a little self indulgent time.

This didn't work out for me. I booked with a senior stylist as I'd had long hair for many years and wanted to be in experienced hands. I liked her as person and she's good at making people feel comfortable. However, they were short-staffed and she was managing the salon at the same time as cutting so couldn't give me full attention. There was no real opportunity to discuss different styles - I felt I just had to take her advice. I was given a discount voucher as an encouragement to return and went back a few weeks later to have a shorter cut as the first had not been as short as I'd wanted. Once again, the stylist was managing at the same time as cutting - though she'd previously said that it rarely happened. The cut she gave me was not at all what I asked for - it's very conventional, needs careful blow-drying and makes me look middle-aged. I am middle-aged, but I hadn't wanted to encourage that impression! I'd asked for something casual and easy to care for as I swim a lot. I've now booked elsewhere and am hoping for third time lucky...

Fantastic staff, and fantastic haircut :) And the also offer a 30% student discount, so it's not that pricey in the end either, especially for the treatment and service you get! Definitely my favourite hairdresser in Edinburgh so far!

I got my hair done as a model and they are great, I got mine done from Molly at Frederick Street and she done an amazing job 💇🏻‍♀️❤️💯 they always make sure you have a coffee, tea etc

I cannot say anything negative about Charlie Miller. I've been going here for a while now and I always leave feeling like I've really had a good hair cut, money very well spent. My hairdresser, Rachel, is absolutely fantastic, she understands exactly what I am wanting and is always honest with me re what she can or cant do on each visit. When it comes to getting your hair cut/coloured you definitely want reassurance, understanding and honesty. I feel that I always get this. I will never change my hairdresser now.

Great friendly staff lovely place to have a haircut

Very disappointed in my very expensive haircut, I asked for a long layer in my hair and the senior stylist has cut it all the one length, I’m in complete shock at how poor a haircut I received, I also asked for full head of highlights and was disappointed with the lack of foils put in, my hair doesn’t look much lighter, when your senior stylist has to ask for a second opinion on what toner to put in your hair tells me the 23 year old wasn’t really a senior stylist, but certainly charged me senior prices £200! Shocking bad hair cut for that price, avoid this place it’s all style over substance!!
