Why do staff have to deal noisily with book requests over the phone sometimes at length when others are studying or trying to concentrate. The staff always have very loud voices and seem to communicate unnecessary matters.

Superb interior space, with beautiful main reading room rotunda. A must-visit on any architectural tour of Edinburgh, and a historic library, one of the first funded by Scottish-American industrialist Andrew Carnegie. For library users, the art and design collections are especially rich and useful. Very highly recommended!

Spent many many hours studying and reading here. A fantastic and spacious library with a coffee machine, they even have keyboards you can play and a music room to practise or have meetings in. I think it would be good to have a hot water kettle, longer opening hours and more seating during busy exam times, but it's still one my fav places in Edinburgh. It's a warm space where everyone is welcome. Let there be light!

Not exactly visitor friendly . Told I had to book but wouldn't say how. Eventually got in to be told I wasn't able to look for a specific book. Eventually just walked out. PS. Being disabled it took me about a hour to walk there because Google maps didn't recognize half the streets
