The room had was in old section, so not really bothered by its kind worn condition. Plenty other rooms that looked fresh. Really good menu and wines.

We absolutely loved our stay at Castaways. The beachfront location is perfect. Super comfortable beds, great pool, spectacular view and very friendly service. The restaurant was A++ with a fabulous quality menu and good cocktails. Highly recommend for a tropical getaway.

We are from UK Visiting our daughter and son in law. We couldn't fault anything. The room was lovely, staff so pleasant, but most of all the food and cocktails were totally amazing!! Thank you all for a 1st class stay.

Castaways Resort is an amazing place to stay. The resort staff are very friendly and accommodating to families, but it's also perfect if you are looking for a romantic getaway. The restaurant serves exceptional meals and the staff are always so friendly and customer service focused. I have stayed there 4 times and each time I leave feeling relaxed and very well fed! Also, its just a short 5 minute walk to the Beachtown shopping village from the resort. If you are looking to relax and embrace the beauty of the wet tropics, Castaways at Mission Beach is well worth a visit.

Terrible experience at this resort, will not be returning. The staff were rude, the room was run down (ants, mould, water damage, inefficient aircon, no screen door for ocean breeze), the bed was uncomfortable and the ground floor rooms aren't private (as we had random hotel guests trying to see in our door to find their own room). Additionally, one of our party developed COVID symptoms and we approached the reception to cancel the second night so we could isolate. We were told that we would still have to pay the full fee for the room as they could've "booked it a thousand times over". I suppose the preference would be for us to stay and spread germs to guests and staff? My family and I have been coming here for years and have always overlooked the need for a room refresh, however for the price we paid we certainly expect better. We had to pay the $240 for a night that we didn't even stay. Definitely won't be returning. There are plenty of private accommodation options that are more comfortable, more private and with better location at a more affordable price.
