A wonderful, heritage rich establishment. Our hostess and waitress was lovely, and the bartender professional professional personal enough given the crowd that day ( although they said it wasn't considered busy as yet ). Their Bloody Mary Oyster Shooters were just the right mix of flavours with simpmy the sweetest, most savoury, freshest oysters. The Oatmeal Stout available on our visit was a nice roasted pint that didn't sit too heavy. We were there for nibbles and a drink, so the scallops were just the thing along with the hearty Whitebait. I recommend the oysters as a must order and the scallops to start your evening. Lovely experience.

Right in the heart of Edinburgh but tucked away if that makes any sense. Decor is incredible your eyes can't stop exploring. Staff are attentive and polite, excellent drinks selection for all beers wines and spirits. We didn't eat but food that came out for others looked tasty,we will try on next visit and no doubt upgrade the star rating.

Great city centre pub. Good choices for beer and wine. Lovely atmosphere and decor. Didn't eat here as we had booked a meal elsewhere so only popped in for a drink. Staff were welcoming and very professional.

Food is not typical pub grub but excellent quality and presentation- now my place of choice for lunch prior to international rugby matches. Good choice of beers but a liittle pricey. Also has an oyster bar. Decor is superb, particularly the tiled wall panels depicting the old trades or guilds, which I suspect may be subject to a preservation order. Worth buying a meal or drink just to enjoy the interior.

Popped in for a celebratory drink only, so no food review. Packed. Great atmosphere. Huge range of gin and whisky, at least by my standards. Some staff in a bit of a hurry to get us moving on, which we were able to oblige.
