Most useless receptionist and after waiting for weeks for an appointment you will get nothing sorted. They will require you have many test done which will lead just to the usual advise of taking painkillers. Avoid if you can. In most cases another doctor over the phone from overseas can give better advise that helped me.
Beyond belief this practice, receptionists are absolutely no help what's so ever, they're rude, abrupt ,treated like an animal, this isn't a practice it's worse than the kennels, the dogs & cats in kennels are treated better than us . As for trying to get an appointment with a doctor, well you've got more chance of getting into a morgue! The only time the receptionists are happy is when theyre finishing there shift or at Christmas time when they're getting a gift,. I've watched this practice for 30+yrs and I've seen all the changes & it's only got worse. Now as for getting to see a nurse ,3wks wait yet 3 nurses work here.the receptionists need to learn manners .what was once a great practice,is now over run.its an absolute disgrace ! I'm ashamed to say I attend this kennel club.
The receptionist was extremely rude and demeaning over the phone as I tried to find an appointment time. There was no need for this behaviour as I was polite and accommodating. It is highly inappropriate to belittle patients in a vulnerable position with health concerns.
I really don’t think the reviews of this surgery are very fair. First of all the receptionist (not sure if theyve changed?) was lovely both times ive been in and she works very hard and is always very busy but manages the time the best she can and is friendly and understanding when registering. When i was registered I rang up because I was out of a very important medication after moving, i rang at 10:45 and she got me into the urgent clinic for 11:30! Then i was seen quite quickly after i checked in. The Dr i had was amazing and so understanding. Its a far cry from my last drs surgery. People are quick to jump on here to complain but i thought it important to share my experience.
Reception women’s are in different time zone... They still think that they’re in 80s or 90s They didn’t let you talk..if you’re a teenager or adult.
Had to call up to query a prescription. The GP had said he'd issue two items in the prescription but there was only 1. Reception were really unhelpful on the phone and very blunt. Did nothing to try and support / rectify the problem. I know everywhere is really busy at the moment but really poor approach to being helpful / forthcoming. Call lasted all of 90 seconds and got hung up on very abruptly.
Both female GPs Syme and Rushworth are useless. Not sure which one is the worst but Syme is definitely very abrupt and dismissive whilst rushworth is just clueless.
I received some very good care back in August. I didn't think anything of leaving a review for a doctor's surgery, as we all expect a 5 star service from the NHS but we never say when we receive such care. I informed the reception staff of my health issue and was given a telephone consultation for the following afternoon, with Dr Stewart. It was quick and efficent. I also received a much welcome follow up call and an additional prescription as the issue hadn't been resolved after a week. Admittedly, the appointments are more general timeframes (morning / afternoon etc.). However, this is understandable and the doctor and reception staff did ask for days and times that worked for me. Some of these calls came on an evening than afternoon, but if a doctor rings me much later in the day (and is working past 7:30pm on a Friday...), I just assume this is because the doctor has had a hell of a day and or is triaging as appropriate.
They ask you about the reason you came in, and when you start talking they interrupt you because ''they dont have time as more people are waiting and the appointment is just for 10 minutes!''. You end up leaving with leaflets and prescriptions for antibiotics and painkillers without even knowing what's going on. Dr.W is rude and careless. At the end you hope you die so you dont have to go back again
This has to be one of the best GP practices that I have ever been registered with, in Edinburgh. I have moved around the city a lot and therefore, have had to register with a far few across the city. The Doctors here, in my experience, are attentive and really listen, their Pharmiscist Alison is lovely, and the Nurse Joanne is also a treasure. I can't rate the effort of their professional + clinical services staff enough.
