Terrible admin - no-one answers the phone at all (I've tried 32 times now). Most staff have no idea about anything you ask about or don't have the authority to do anything. Swimming lessons are very poor. Badly organised. Huge group size. Nothing is personalised, teachers seem to have no idea of what each child needs to do to improve. The aqua passport isn't updated for months on end. No-one is ever around to deal with issues. You're charged for lessons that the swimming pool cancels repeatedly despite the promising to adjust direct debits. The only reason we use it at all is because it's nearby and our kids friends go there.

So nice to see a proper swimming baths (like when I was a kid) in a fantastic old building. Great staff, community feel, I’ve been twice in 2 days. Please, please, please Bristol don’t let the developers get hold of it.

Great swimming venue. Pros: Family swim ticket is very reasonable for 5 people and pool is never too busy on a Sunday morning. Beautiful architecture in which to swim. Long (? Olympic length) pool that has fast, medium, and slow lanes when not Swim for All. Cons: Pool temperature is very variable from day to day. This is normally fine for lengths but often feels very cold when standing in the water with children. They also seem to be frequently understaffed; which must be irritating for them but can also sometimes mean that there is a long wait to pay for entry.

Unfortunately, this place has gone downhill drastically in the last 18 months. Late opening, lifeguards chatting and generally not paying attention, Lane swims too hot or the water too low. Such a shame, as it used to be the best pool to swim in.

I love this pool. And the renovation job they did is just great! But sadly still no private showers in the toilet rooms. The water today was too hot. Not very nice feeling when is more than 20 degrees outside. Same thing with the shower. the water is was way too hot. Shame they didn't fit a thermostatic valve when the renovation job took place.

1/ 5

After being closed for 6 months for refurbishment before the pandemic, then only opening in July 2021 I expected more from the refurbishment. Paint is still peeling from the ceiling, the lockers still need old pound coins, and the changing booths are still mostly missing their curtains. Also the floor was filthy, I took my shoes off at the door as instructed by the time I’d walked 2m to the lockers my feet were covered in gritty dirt. Finally there were so many people booked into the Lane swimming session that the lanes were crowded and keeping a safe distance from other swimmers was impossible. I’m very disappointed, I had high hopes.

Tried to visit on the reopening day. Despite marketing comms suggesting walk-ins were welcome alongside members, it became pretty clear only members were welcome. Very rude and disorganised. Don't waste people's time letting them wait in a queue when there was no chance of being allowed into the pool. Not a great way to encourage people to join

I was so excited to go back here after it re opened. But what a disappointment. It's still so run down. It just feels dirty. I'd rather travel out to hengrove pool for the same price.
