Bridgeton Library glasgow

I love this place. It has an electric atmosphere. I have always said that about the East End of Glasgow. Especially Bridgeton

The Past Times Cafe in this library has the slowest service I've ever encountered. Myself and 4 workmates went down to try it out. Some of us only have 45 mins for lunch. 25 minutes in, the 1 staff member there had only served two of us. Mainly because the she seemed to need to hear each person's life story in infinite detail. To make matters worse, every time someone actually got to order something, she asked the whole queue "if they wanted that same thing too?, so it'll be quicker?" Then she asked us if we worked in the library? - yeah, because we always wear our coats indoors at work. Lastly, at least 70% of the advertised menu was not actually available. So don't be expecting any cajun chicken, paninis or fruit. They only have 3-day-old tuna, jacket potatoes, and salad apparently. Each of which they will offer the whole queue any time anybody orders same. I was honestly starting to wonder if it was one of those hidden camera shows.

Much more than a library,very helpful staff,pleasant atmosphere, great facilities,I was never one for being at the library a lot but I think that will change!:)

Wow! What a wonderful place this is. I used it today and only problem was finding the library as my Sat Nav seriously needs updated and my A to Z is in tatters. Nevertheless got there and was highly impressed by the welcoming atmosphere and the fact that nothing was too much bother. A lovely young lady arranged for me to get access to a mediatheque booth and set it up for me, looked up my requested programme and provided me with headphones that she apologised for as the cable was ridiculously long and that the sound was not wonderful but the library were on the case. Turned out the sound was fine even to a partially deaf person like me. Many thanks to everybody at this library it was a real pleasure to come 30 odd miles to experience the Mediatheque and the helpfulness and politeness of staff. It is clear that you care about the library users and I most certainly will be back. Well done!!!
