Amazing place, plenty of garden walks and awesome views over Coniston water. We took our dog and he loved exploring especially down by the lake. Brantwood is the former home of John Ruskin, the house itself is not currently open to the public but plenty to see for a very reasonable entrance fee. Food and snacks available and plenty of parking, approach road can be quite narrow in places but fairly typical of area. All in all well worth a visit.

Came for a Sunday afternoon tea and cake at the cafe. Friendly staff and beautiful views. It does pay to get in early to try the delicious cake options as we got the last pieces of carrot and coffee cake.

The home of John Ruskin, art critic and polymath at Brantwood, overlooking beautiful Lake Coniston, is a delight. Tour his gardens and enjoy the beautifully kept house itself, but be astounded by the views across the lake to the 'Old Man of Coniston.' Truly a joy!
