This is the worst boots opticians i have ever seen. you can never collect your glasses on time, trust me, never. I bought 2pair of glasses from here, the staff will call you to cancel the appointments just beforehand you prepare to collect, and always use one excuse: sorry the delivery can't make it today. So that I normally have to spend 2 weeks to have a pair of glass. Shame On U. I remember when I buy a glasses in England, there is a very small boots opticians, but I can still collect my glasses in the same day with eye testing. I am so disappointed with the low efficiency glasses collections in this store. I don't recommend anyone come in this store who wants a glasses in a short time, because the time you spend on waiting your glasses alike a never ended no deal Brexit.

I had a really lovely visit to this location. Coming from the US, I was a bit nervous what the process would be like. It's a popular location, so be sure to book in advance. The service was quick and easy.

Walked in to get advice about an eye infection. I had to give all my personal details before speaking to anyone. I was then told they would have to charge me as I had an NHS eye test 14 months ago. They refused to provide any advice. I asked to speak to their manager, who confirmed they would have to charge me and would not advise at all, even if clearly my eye was infected. I went to Vision Express around the corner. They gave me a free appointment, and explained that while the NHS provides a free visit only once every two years, if an optician thinks your eye health should be assessed again, then they can give you a free NHS visit. With an eye clearly infected, mine was obviously the case. I went to the NHS web site, and it clearly states that. Shame on you Boots. You tried to extort money out of me by LYING. I will never buy anything from you ever again.

Call them in Edinburgh and get put through to a call centre miles away, where they refuse to let you know if they have an appointment before wanting all your personal details DOB contact etc, and getting off their spam list is a nightmare. Can't answer a simple question first: do you have an appointment free today?

Visiting Edinburgh for a few days I found myself in need of emergency service for my varifocal eye glasses arm. Lovely and understanding customer service from opticians reception to check out. Special thanks to Jim who very efficiently fabricated a screw to fix the problem although the original was not available. Thank you all, you are stars and you definitely made my day!

I went for an eye checkup. The staff were very courteous and patient with me. I had a lot of questions, and they answered everything properly. The tests were conducted fairly quickly too, and covid protocols were allowed followed, e.g cleaning the machines before testing.

Nonexistent customer care. I had an appointment a couple of days ago in Boots Opticians on Princes Street in Edinburgh. The first person who started the consultation and did some tests, he was really helpful, friendly and professional. Then, I waited for the optometrist and her first approach was rude, I could not finish answering the first question, she asked me to stop several times and get to the point. I showed her an inform from a previous test done in my country and she asked for specific terms on the paper that I could not respond because were specific optician job related. She was angry about it and looked into them in the computer to translate them. I asked her the meaning of this terms but she did not reply to me. At this point I just wanted to leave the room and finish the consultation, I did not feel comfortable with the way she treated me, although I am a respectful person I stayed and continued until the end. At the end, she said to me to change my glasses, I told her I had to think about it, and she reply to me: 'If you don't change your glasses I willsee you here very soon'. This was not about what she said to me, but how she said this to me. She used this tone during the whole consultation. I was very surprised of her manners, a health professional should be polite, comprehensive and empathetic. I used the same service a few years back and I had a very good experience with all the staff including the optometrist. This is why, after this time, when I left the shop I felt hurt and I do not think I will go back there and I definitely do not recommended it to anybody. I believe everyone deserves to be treated with respect and humanely, showing care, kindness and sympathy.

I received absolutely top notch customer service at the Princes Street store after what was a bit of a shaky encounter with the Fort Kinnaird branch. Max and Claire went the extra mile to address a few problems derived from the Fort branch. I cannot compliment them enough on their attention to customer service and detail. Nothing was too much trouble for either of them particularly Max - Both are the pinnacle of a good example when it comes to customer service...... THANKS. They deserve recognition and praise from their management team - outstanding.
