I am writing to complain about the poor service provided by Bloomsbury Surgery on the 20th December 2021. A couple days before that I visited the UCLH A&E Department to look at my hand which had been bothering me for three months. The doctor told me to book a consultation with my GP to further test if I potentially had carpal tunnel syndrome. I gave Bloomsbury Surgery a call at 8:30 in the morning to book an appointment, and I was told to use the online service to book the appointment. I tried booking an appointment online multiple times, but the automatic system kept on referring me to numbers that I needed to call and also did not provide any useful information. I tried calling Bloomsbury Surgery again, but to my disappointment the staff there were very rude and dismissive of my concerns. After trying to communicate my problems for a long period of time, the receptionist I was talking to eventually hung up the phone on me. I then visited Bloomsbury Surgery to try and sort out the misunderstanding and to explain to them what the A&E doctor had told me. A tall, white man by the surname of Smith met me and told me I wasn’t allowed in. He then lied to me, saying that he was a doctor and that he had personally responded to my online referrals. He was rude and disdainful to the whole situation, and left me more confused and frustrated, especially as I knew he was lying about replying to my online referral forms. Overall, the staff at Bloomsbury Surgery were rude and unhelpful in helping me book an appointment.
