When we visited the place was packed and we had a short wait for a table. I was anticipating slow service, but we had our order taken promptly. The food arrived fairly quickly and was to a high standard, generous portions too. There was a wait to get the bill but it wasn't too unreasonable. The staff were clearly very busy but were friendly and polite. I would definitely visit again. The price was about in the middle for Central Oxford.

What the starters we had were lovely, the mains were a complete let down. The fish pie was mostly potato and the portion size rather small for the price. As an expensive main, having to buy vegetables as a side was a bit of a shock (which had to be sent back as too salty). The chicken burger was dry and even with the coleslaw very bland. And the salted rosemary fries wouldn't know salt or rosemary if slapped in the face. My local chip shop sells tastier chicken burgers at around 14 the price. A shame as last time we went it was enjoyable. *Edit Manager asked me to provide my details as he wanted to talk to me about my poor visit. Despite me supplying requested information, I never was contacted. Small show of how important customer service actually is....

Thankyou so much to Bill's last night..we had a lovely night celebrating with family. We were a group of 8 and had been double booked at another restaurant /bar at 8pm. We had all travelled on to oxford to meet as this was a central place for us to meet. However a very helpful young lady on the phone was able to make space for us. We had cocktails and the food was great.thanks so much for making a very disappointing night a great one. Will recommend and definitely be back

Attentive service that went the extra mile to be accommodating. Food and drink that really impressed. A spacious, high ceiling interior with perfect lighting and candlelit tables made this a standout experience that I can only recommend.
