I have been meaning to go to the gym 7 years ago. Never had the time, could not be bothered... mention any excuse, I gave it. Finally, I grew up and decided it was time. I did not want to spend a lot of money but did not want to go to a cheap place either. I needed a gym where I would be surrounded by professionals and be part of a team; where I would not feel left out nor intimidated by others. This place, I found it and to my relative's despair, FF was all I talked about. I loved the classes, the environment, the staff, the people... If you want to take the next step, they will help you. EDIT: This review applied for Fitness First. I am puzzled as to why Better Gym kept the credit of a 5star rating which did not apply to them. I left the gym soon after it changed from Fitness First to Better Gym. Most of the staff was gone and processes had changed - not for the better. You can find an actual better gym and cheaper around.

The free 2 hour parking service is extremely useful..The gym has all the facilities you need ( ie.treadmills, weight machines, areas to do body exercises, sauna and steam room). The showers are modern and the lockers have a sufficient amount of space to store your belongings. I've been with this gym for three years now.The membership fees have been reduced since the gym changed from fitness first to better.I was paying £47 per month while the gym was owned by fitness first. It's now only £24.95. I can see myself staying with this gym for the next couple of years. It would be worth staying if one of the female members eventually takes up my offer to meet up for coffee!!

A complete joke since the staff change. The over weight manager with a beard is lazy and there’s someone called luis I think who might aswell be asleep because he’s so unhelpful and unbothered about anything. No customer service, no smiles, no welcoming attitude. It is always filthy, honestly I give this place till Christmas before it shuts down completely. Hopefully a better company will take over and give the members the kind of gym they deserve.

Went to this place to have a look around and to see what type of gym equipment they have, met with a young lady there who seems in charge, she showed me around and talked briefly. I left the place deciding (I will never come back), she was careless, arrogant and not interested at all of having new customers, although the place is very nice. I decided to join another gym just right beside that gym where they offer friendlier service and better price.

Gym closed permanently with no notification whatsoever the day after taking my payment for the following month. Then failed to refund this payment. That's what I would expect from other commercial gyms, not from one that markets itself as a "charitable social enterprise". Appalling.
