Baronscourt Surgery edinburgh

I've been in Edinburgh for 13 years and went to many surgeries but this one is particularly bad. Arrogant and rude receptionists who think they are so very important, not listening to patients, interrupting mid sentence, they have no empathy. Waiting time for an appointment is usually 2 weeks, it's ridiculous. Also, there are some stupid rules such as you need to phone on Monday because on Tuesday all appointments are already taken for the next week or two. Yes, you guess it, it's impossible to connect via phone on Monday. I have a friend in another surgery and she got an appointment the same day. The GPs are polite but their knowledge is questionable. Few times they were treating me for something that wasn't there and not treating some serious illnesses at all. Also need to almost beg them for referrals. No matter what DO NOT SIGN UP to this surgery. I'm now stuck with them because of the NHS nonsense policy of switching surgeries. It's disgusting.

I came here a year ago and I got the impression that the older receptionists thought they were doctors , but It was a total breath of fresh air to see this newer set up , you don’t always get good news from your Gp it should be a happy place to come to . Well done new team

It is extremely difficult when not impossible to book an appointment and I am constantly receiving confusing and contradictory information regarding my condition. The reception team sounds annoyed when you ask for clarification on the phone. It is better than having no practice but it is no good. If I could I would change but no other GPs in the area are admitting people. I feel so disappointed and frustrated that I have started saving for a medical insurance. The nurses are very good, though.

I have never had any problems at this surgery. The Doctors are always kind, considerate and sympathetic alongside the nurses and receptionists. They always give me the best they can. 5 stars ro them all.

Reception staff polite and helpful. Nursing and medical staff very accommodating and welcoming. Practice appeared to be very professional all round

Honestly never had a bad experience at this surgery. Sometimes the line is busy first thing in the morning but I have always been able to get through. Doctors are, in my experience, punctual in calling you back. I have recently had ongoing issues with my skin and have been offered a face to face appointment where appropriate on the same day. Prescriptions are always ready in a timely manner. The surgery is clean and nicely presented and the staff I have dealt with have all been polite and professional.

Void this surgery. I’ve been having joint problems for so many years and all they kept doing was giving me vitamin D. No x-rays to see what’s happening in my lower back to know why sometimes I can’t walk. This one time a DOCTOR, couldn’t even put a needle in my vein to take a blood test and she kept moving the needle around in my arm I had a bruise for 2 weeks straight. I’ve decided to go to a private chiropractor and you won’t believe this in a 30 minutes session they told me everything that’s wrong. But a DOCTOR who studied for so long couldn’t ?!!!! Ridiculous. Wonder what medical school they went to. Lastly I’m not even going to talk about the receptionists because they need to go to a school that’s shows MANNERS. By the way I’ve called 51 times in 28 minutes to make 2 appointments and nothing.

Very few people go to work wanting to do a bad job. For everyone that complains about their GP, ask yourself this: 1. Do you do everything you can to optimise your health? 2. Do you order your meds in time? 3. Do you seek help at the most appropriate place? (Opticians, pharmacy, NHS Inform) 4. Do you phone early in the morning or do you expect an appointment to be available the moment you call? NHS services have never been under so much strain, so to everyone leaving a 1* review here, ask yourself what good are you doing? Stop moaning and cope. Just because you don’t get what you want, you shouldn’t start putting poor reviews up, you bag of wet flannels.

One of the worst surgery i have experienced , unfortunately I am local chap so I don't have any other place to go. Me and my family feel this surgery is curse for us . We never get an appointment from them . Reception staffs are totally manner less and seems to be racist. Last 2 years me and my family phone may be 1000 time to get an appointment. May be 5 to 6 time we had chance to speak with them. From 8 am in the morning we keep ringing them they keep their phone intentionally busy and then afrer 9 am if you get them they will say to call them tomorrow. Only treatment we get from hospital emergency and you know all your problem will not categorised as emergency So will not get treatment from hospital. Because of this surgery my family suffer physically, mentally, emotionally. My home is my own home so I can not change from it.

Very responsive on appointments. Each time I made an appointment they contacted me in less than two hours.
