I had a knee problem arising from an operation l had 16 years ago. I had been told by my GP and physio that the pain and inflammation l had was due to arthritis stemming from the site of the operation. They advised that really l could not expect to be as active as l had been and that the best solution was to rest the knee and to undertake gentle exercise with breaks inbetween. My yoga instructor Anthea Simpson from Yoga Healing Glasgow advised me to make an appointment with the McTimoney Chiropractic clinic at Balance. I had two appointments and a week after the second ....the pain had gone from my knee! I now carry out the simple exercises that the practitioner gave me to do and have to say that l can't believe the improvement! Big Thank you to the clinic l can now walk for miles and climb stairs again without pain.

I cannot speak highly enough about Balance having been a Yoga student here for over 10 years. I would recommend Balance to anyone. The yoga studio is spacious and to a very high standard. The atmosphere is welcoming & relaxed. The yoga teachers are incredible, particularly Maureen & Gerry, giving high quality instructions & so encouraging and supportive throughout the practice. The teachers are backed up by the front desk staff who are always friendly & helpful. The studio offers a wide range of yoga & workshops and caters to suit all levels.. If you're looking to start or enhance your yoga journey there would be no better place to be than Balance.

I am currently attending the 5 week beginners yoga course at balance, and it is the BEST yoga class I have been to. This is the first yoga class where I have actually felt the calming and relaxing benefits of yoga. I am also double jointed, and the teacher, Gerry, is mindful to take this into account and modify my body so that I can do the poses safely. Can't wait for the next one! :)

I have been a student and teacher at Balance for over 9 years. The yoga teaching standard is very high, which was my motivation in studying to teach with Gerry and Maureen. Teaching is student focused with attention to safe practice and to developing strength and flexibility in students of all ages. The teacher/student relationship is friendly and open.

"David Moore (Yoga student & teacher) Balance Yoga Glasgow - With a focus on correct posture - a cornerstone of good health - and technique, the Balance practice seamlessly develops stamina, strength and flexibility, bespoke to each individual's body. You are encouraged to carefully integrate movement and breath enhancing awareness and sensitivity, always working that most important "mental muscle" - the mind! Latest: "Psst ... keep it a secret, otherwise too may people will get to know, but due to additional demand Balance are about to add an additional superb new yoga studio and additional facilities in what was formerly one of the oldest garages in the city, right next door. I've managed an advance 'peek' and having at one time housed horse & carriage, the transformation and exposed natural finishes are at once simple yet stunning. Perhaps you've tried yoga before, or want to appreciate correct and safe technique specifically tailored to your own body and as a supplement to your existing activities. Truly developmental for mind & body health, check out the Balance online booking and information on their website."

I have been going to Balance Yoga for around 5 years. It is a lovely facility, clean, up to date, well run and with competent and friendly receptionists and staff. It does all sorts of Physio, chiropractor and medicine as well as having some excellent yoga teachers - primarily Maureen and Gerry, but with lots of others including guest teachers. The classes are well structured and you can choose a class to suit all abilities. Maureen and Gerry are particularly good at assisting students and will always help to suggest an alternative variation e.g. if you are carrying an injury. The yoga studio is light and welcoming and of a very high standard. It is by far the best yoga setup I have tried in Scotland. If you want some escapism try the aerial yoga classes on Saturday afternoon. Charlie
