Love avis/budget car rental. Staff are friendly and their prices are very reasonable.

*** DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY *** We hired a car from Luton Airport which had additional damage not listed on the vehicle condition report. We notified the Avis representative and she claimed to have recorded the additional damage. Upon returning the vehicle to a closed Avis desk at Liverpool Airport there was no one to look at the car at that point. Two days later I get an email charging me for a chip to the alloy wheel less than a 1 penny piece in diameter. This damage was pre-existing and I have pictures but the distress they cause is unacceptable given its their incompetent staff that didn't record damage properly.

Hired an 8 seater family car 2018. For family holiday while we were visiting Liverpool from overseas. The whole procedure was faultless, no fuss, straight forward. On return the deposit that was held was cleared almost immediately. Great experience.

Stay away ! Broke down in France AA gold cover organised a hire care from Geneva to calias , Avis gave me the wrong address for the drop and swap for the British car . Missed my Eurotunnel as a result :( because the AA then hired a British car from enterprise the hand over notes stating the fuel levels and condition of the car were not forwarded to or asked for by Avis so they take £156 out my account for fuel ! Cheeky robbing bxxxxxxx

No, I'm not related to anyone at Avis - or the guys that work here. I'm typically very cautious so when I read the two reviews, I hesitated about wanting to hire from here. So, I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of service I received. My travel agent booked the car hire for me. When I arrived, I informed Kev (Kevin) that I'll definitely be bringing the vehicle back well before closing time, the following day - which would give him the option of letting that same car go on hire for the weekend. After a little pause, Kev said they there maybe something he could do and he delivered. For a little extra, he offered me a higher band of vehicle which was perfect given the journey I had to take (to London and back). I used to work fleet transport so my inspections are a lot more detailed and I managed to identify a number of scratches that weren't on the Avis appraisal - but I was asked to mark them (I also took photos) so there was little fuss about that. My only 'negative' comment is the location. I liked the central location on Mulberry Street and St. Anne's Street is a bit of a walk from the city centre (20 minutes). Will definitely be using Avis again; thanks primarily to Kev's attentiveness and offer to assist.

Quick and efficient service. I've had good cars and no problems after 5 or more hires to-date.
