I have reservation, and email confirm the full coverage insurance fee is £21.5 per day, but employee told me it’s £31 per day. I requested he to explain me, but he couldn’t and just told me other people queue and waiting for rent car. The fee is over my budget about £70.

Customer from Germany, i am used to renting my car with SIXT at EDI and I wanted to test AVIS this time : it was the worst experience I have ever had in renting cars. No transparency on costs (the miss was more interested in getting rid of me with maximum charges than in counselling me), no customer relationship and we did not get the expected car. I don't recommend at all this agency and I will never trust AVIS anymore : i would not have given stars if I could.

Went off without a hitch which is the best you can say about car rental. I put over 1100 miles on the unlimited mileage car.

Very poor service. 1) I waited over 1 hour to collect the keys for the car. 2) Upon return of the vehicle I was charged for damage which was already on the vehicle before my rental began. Despite photos to prove they have simply booked the damage charge to my credit card. Unbelievable how a hire car company can survive when they work like this. It was my first time with Avis / Budget and will also be the last. I am extremely disappointed and cannot recommend this company to anyone!

Avis preferred member and regular user over the past 2 or 3 years. There have generally been few problems over this time, however in the past 6 months I have found that they are becoming increasingly petty. For example attempting to charge for additional fuel despite returning the vehicle full. What I would expect from a budget car hire provider and not a provider I have paid a premium for.

Easy process to pick up car. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Main issue I faced was trying to speak to someone by phone. I was put through various automated systems and referred to the website. After trying for two hours I finally spoke to a person who was helpful, so Avis just need to address their phone system. Once you talk to the staff they cannot be more helpful.

A good clean car, very positive staff and pick up was fast and efficient. My only frustration was that I booked from Canada,called Avis direct,was redirected to what i was told was an Avis agent. Booked the car ,booked my insurance and was told that it was full coverage. When I went to pick up car had to buy full coverage insurance again as Avis will only accept insurance when it is booked with them directly and not accept a 3rd party agent. Again Avis top marks!! but buyer beware of this is something that happens often and is very difficult to comprehend at the time.

Warm welcome and friendly staff at avis Edinburgh Airport. I was asked how much luggage I had and given a car appropriate for my needs which was a big plus. The car was in great condition, clean and new. Apart from the long queue to get my car initially (which had to be due to the number of people choosing the same company) nothing but a pleasant experience. Will definitely be going back there again

I rented a vehicle from Avis at Edinburgh Airport. The office and pick up were a short covered walk away that was well signposted. Staff at pick up and drop off were super friendly and helpful, plus there were automatic transmission options available, which is what I requested.

The car was good, but pricey once VAT was added, something not made clear at the desk. Upgrades and insurance pushed as usual, same as every car hire firm. Billing process rather obscure, and customer is left to extract the final bill through the website.
