We decided to use Anglian as they are supposedly one the top manufacturers of windows in the UK. Far from it i must say, it has been one of the most stressful and worst decision that we took and hence why such a review has been posted as i think it should be out there to warn customers about the conduct that has been carried out by such a big company.
We first called up Anglian Windows in September, the sales representive came out to see us at our property, he was very responsive and on the ball during the meeting. we decided there and then with him and came to an agreement on price at £14000.00 which we decided to take up the finance option as it was subject for the deal to go ahead. the credit check was done there and then and it passed straight away, we then paid the deposit of £100.00 and we were then told that a surveyor will come out and measure all the windows and all the paperwork as discussed will follow shortly along with the credit agreement and drawings of all the windows, as the salesman was so convincing we just went along with it all.
Our build required a two stage order, so we required the loft windows to go first along with first floor and the ground floor windows would have followed later, anyhow the first serveyor decided to come around 3-4 weeks later as he didn't think there was no need to measure up as he could not be bothered to come twice. any how when he finally arranged to pop down we were given a time of when he was going to arrive, we waited outside our property for almost 4 hours, we kept calling him, no response, we eventually called Anglian head office and the surveyor finally called to say he was running late, which was already over 3 hours after the time agreed.
by this time we were becoming very agitated by Anglian, we tried calling our sales rep, no answer, no paperwork through the post or email, no credit agreement, nothing coming through at all. we then finally managed to get another surveyor, who came in and measured all the windows except the new extension which he was going to come back and do, when he arrived, even he was complaining that their was a lack of information on his end, even he tried calling the sales rep for clarification and again no response.
Eventually we spoke to customer services and were given an installing date for the 16th November 2016, again at this point we had still not received any paperwork or confirmation and were becoming very concerned. As we have had so many issues with Anglian we decided to call on the 15th November and to our shock were told, that there was no windows on order from Anglian on their records and the windows have not even gone into production. As you can appreciate we were extremely disappointed and concerned as we had builders on site and lot of work was based around the windows and our project had a major impact on time lines and huge impacts on our finances as we had to delay so many things moving forward.
We finally got a call from the manager telling us if wanted installation we would need to let them know if so they could put the windows into production so they could be ready before christmas. we told them to hold on and we would let them know within a few days. As we had no confidence in them moving forward we decided to go ahead with another supplier instead, we put this into writing informing them of our decision on the 23rd November.
Once we told the sales team of our decision, the management turned onto us and started threatening us that we would be liable of 30% of the total bill, although nothing was put into production and still not receiving any form of paperwork. We were told that we will be sent to court and Anglian will pursue us for the money owed to them. We are absolutely disgusted by there behaviour and if this matter is not resolved we will be informing the FCA (Financial Conduct Authority) about Anglians conduct.
Basically i would never recommend Anglian, I had to give one star in order to post this review, infact i wouldn't even give them that.
