Alligator Organic veg shop york

Alligator is a fab shop - we have been shopping there weekly for over 10 years. They have an amazing range, particularly if you have any specific dietary needs or a love of foods from different countries, we have fallen in love with products from Alligator which we simply wouldn't be able to find elsewhere. The staff are very friendly, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. They are also very willing to order in specific products for you and offer discounts for bulk buying products. A huge range of products are available without packaging, making them more environmentally friendly and cheaper. If you haven't been there, I urge you to give it a try!

What a superb shop! We're really appreciating all the fresh organic produce, and now an assortment of beans and lentils that we measure out ourselves and bring home in a paper bag ...no plastic. This is great addition to the nuts, seeds, rice etc that can also be bought loose.

Such lovely helpful friendly staff who are always willing to try and get products for you they dont stock. Good variety of organic products.

Lovely shop! Excellent for all of your zero-waste aspirations, though extortionate prices. Be prepared however for stock shortage, rude staff and the owner's bitter attitude... and breath!

Full marks for a great ethos. Unfortunately the throughput of their fresh veg is slow so they can get a bit gnarly at times. Good selection of products to buy though.
