Exemplary response and treatment
Yesterday, I, a 76 year old man, attended an appointment for tests arranged by my local GP practice the day before. The arranged appointment was to scan for a blood clot. Acute Medicine was the first call – they tested for blood pressure, urine and blood analysis. All the staff were exemplary in their professionalism and communication. After this I was sent for a scan in the Radiology Department and the same caring response was there too. I was at the hospital for about 5 hours and couldn’t believe how helpful everyone was. ARI is a huge and complex hospital – when lost in the maze, staff were always there to redirect the old goat! In the end I felt exhausted, but eternally grateful to all the staff I encountered. What an unbelievable blessing and gift the astonishing NHS is! 10 out of 10!
