1/ 5

Constantly inefficient, not fit for purpose and the service is abysmal. They have three self-service machines. They worked for about 5 minutes and then after that, for weeks on end, ALL THREE MACHINES are either out of order or have been blocked by staff. My suspicion is that they are pathetically understaffed in that branch so do not want the hassle of having one staff member attend to the machines. This makes a mockery of the machines helping cut down the queue, so hence when I visited this place on Friday, I waited 40 MINUTES TO BE SERVED. There were 2 people serving and a third who sat at a staff position which was not operating, happily ignoring the customers and getting on with something far more pressing. The customer service in this place is DISGRACEFUL. Good staff would attend to the queue FIRST and then get on with other things. Whoever 'manages' this place is a joke. AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS! Edit: December 2021 - I should have taken my own advice at the end of the last review above. I went to this joke of a post office yesterday in the vain hope that it may have improved and I really needed to send off a couple of important parcels. I arrived to a snaking queue of people, ONE SINGLE PERSON on the counter and one poor, young girl who could be no more than 20yrs old (if that) tending to the machines as well as having to tend to parcels at the counter - so she was doing the job of TWO PEOPLE and probably earning minimum wage in the process. I queued for 20 minutes, only to be beckoned over to the now empty machines. I needed proof of postage for my parcels. I found I was unable to do this myself. The girl had disappeared, so I stood for another 10 minutes - along with both people either side of me who also required assistance waiting for her to return. When she did, I was informed 'you can't do proof of postage on the machines'........so what exactly is THE POINT OF THEM??? I was eventually taken back to the counter to finally do this. From start to finish I spent yet another 40 minutes in this abysmal place. ONE STAFF MEMBER serving on a Christmas post office counter??? What kind of customer service is that? This place is just not fit for purpose. Three years on and it is as bad, if not worse, than ever.

Ambiance and waiting times that would test the boundaries of a dystopian novel. Self service machine

1/ 5

Ambiance and waiting times that would test the boundaries of a dystopian novel. Self service machines seem to require 2 staff to operate them, whilst only one staff member is left to tend to an ever growing queue of frustrated punters. The only reason I went in instead of using another parcel drop off/collection service was to get a document witnessed by a post office official... But of course that wasn't something they were able to do either, so there's an hour of my life I'm not getting back.

Everything you do here the staff makes sure to let you know that it's made their day worse by having to do their job. I used to come in with around 6 parcels on average (sometimes I am tempted to bring my 16+ nowadays for a laugh but I wouldn't trust them with it) and they would shoo me away and throw the people who aren't supposed to do that job at me. This made it even worse because they had to keep asking them what to do anyway and I worried about my parcels getting mixed up. The blonde woman told me "I don't have time for this" right now when she saw me coming. So they choose people to make feel bad every time they walk in. I have anxiety and I always felt sick before I walked in because of how hard it is for them to scan a few items like their job entails. The looks they gave me for giving them business. I have no idea how this particular place is still running. It got to the point we were driving 20 minutes out of our way to be treated like a person...

The service in this post office (and Smiths) is and always has been appalling. Staff couldn’t care

1/ 5

The service in this post office (and Smiths) is and always has been appalling. Staff couldn’t care less, never want to help, never friendly. The PO clearly don’t care either as this has always been the way and they’ve never sought to fix it.

worst post office ever! Got a notification to say my parcel was ready for collection went to get it

worst post office ever! Got a notification to say my parcel was ready for collection went to get it to be told no sometimes they just send that email even though its not here (errr why??) returned 3 days later to be told its not there it might be in the room where there is an electronic lock but its broken and gone for the 3rd time another 2 days after to a huge queue only one member of staff who then informed everyone she's leaving for 30mins and will be back. I mean its not fair on her being stuck there alone and rightly so she needs a break but management need to do something about it and they need to close if they don't have the staff capacity as its not right and no doubt she will get the brunt of anger when she's actually the only one whos bothered to show up for work! I will never be using this post office again!!
