Male - Student - 21
I'm sure the Women's cuts are great, as I've heard nothing but good things. But from a male stand point, I had a wicked experience.
On entering the lady at reception immediately greeted me, without being too obtrusive which is often the case. Unbeknown to me, the boss (Andrew Collinge) was also at the front desk working away.
When asking if I could get a student cut the receptionist explained the pricing breakdown, and that the next available appointment was in 45 minutes. Immediately after telling me this, there was a little bit of confusion, as the assigned student hairdresser/stylist came over to explain she would not be able to cut my hair at time they had just mentioned, due to being delayed with another client. Nevertheless, Andrew soon stepped in and cleared things up, he appointed me a senior stylist at no extra charge and was exceptionally direct and professional.
In honesty, the senior stylist would usually be out of my student budget for a haircut. Having said this, my cut was fantastic, the senior stylist Joanne was lovely, found common ground with me, making conversation significantly easier, whilst flirtatious and professional at the same time. Perfect balance for a gents cut.
**Please note my mother is a hairdresser and small talk, frankly, does my head in. Joanne however made a conscious effort to make me feel comfortable in the chair.
In conclusion, since Andrew Collinge adhered to such great customer service, wavering the regular charge and I received such a sharp cut, I would be far, far more inclined to spend more on a haircut with a senior stylist again.
A lesson in how to change consumer spending habits. Nicely done.
