I had a booking for 5.30pm today. Knowing I was running late, I rang the salon and let them know I was going to be ten minutes late, which they said was completely fine. Three minutes after this I received a call saying it was now too late and I needed to reschedule my appointment. I understand it is etiquette to be on time to appointments. The rudeness of the staff member was quite surprising and something I had never experienced. You would think they would try and let me know that 13 minutes was too late on the previous call. I was at a pharmacy across the road waiting on a script which I told them about. As I walked over to talk to the lady, it was exactly 15 minutes past my appointment time. And apparently, this was too late. I think there are ways to talk to clients and this was not it. I am happy to be returning to where I usually go in Newcastle, a place that would never exhibit this kind of attitude.
