Waste of time. Made an online application to open an account and was asked to bring proof of ID and address to the nearest branch. At the branch, I hand my passport and a bank statement to the representative. She asks me which country's passport it is. Greece, I answer, and she proceeds to ask me for a visa. I tell her that I don't need a visa since Greece is part of the EU. She still uses google to verify this information. Afterwards, she takes my bank statement, checks it for 5 minutes, goes to speak to a manager, and returns asking me for anything else that can prove my address. I tell her that the email i recieved specified bank statements as form of proof. "Yeah, but not this one". I tell her that except this and some letters I have recieved like my nino application letter, or a letter in which i got my other debit card, I don't have other sorts. She obviously doesn't accept any of those (i knew that she wouldn't, I have been here two other times prior) and asks me to bring something else. I ask that I'd rather cancel my application instead, she says I should just let it expire. It does not expire though, and i keep getting message reminders and emails every 4-5 days. I show her these messages, which finally make up her mind and she cancels it. Most certaintly won't be going back.
