RESPONSE FROM AUTOHORN
Following my first negative review I have to say that I received a quick response from the Fleet Manager at Autohorn who dealt with my complaint promptly, and in a professional manner immediately arranging the refund whilst a review of their process is carried out.
Whilst my initial experience was very poor I have to give the company credit for quickly dealing with it once it had come to the attention of senior management.
No star rating if I could.Just terrible service from this Company. I wanted a short term lease for 2 months. The sales executive was friendly and helpful up until the point she took the order and the money ie first month's lease and setup fee of 210.00
I then got passed to an administrator who was the opposite, uninterested and unhelpful asking for further documentation which was not asked for when I agreed the terms of the lease with the sales executive.
They would not let me collect the vehicle on the day agreed without this documentation which it was not possible to provide, and the sales executive knew this at the time of agreement. I wasted a day and a half discussing this issue when the agreement was clear.
They were inflexible and ignored the fact that I had a clear agreement in writing from the sales executive on what documentation was required .
I had no option but to cancel the lease as they had not kept to their agreement and needed a car on the day agreed for collection.
They agreed to refund the cost of the first months lease, but refused to refund the setup fee. I asked to speak to the manager who had approved the agreement I made with the sales executive ,but they refused to give me the name just giving me a generic customer service e mail address.
I made a complaint in writing to this address but have received no reply. Clearly just fobbing me off.
My advice is to avoid this Company as after they take the order, and the money (without which you cannot get the documentation) they simply do not care and have an arrogant attitude. For a supposedly reputable Company their complaints procedure ( or lack of one) is disgraceful. Witholding a refund when they are clearly at fault is no way for a reputable Company to operate. I wish I had read the reviews on Google and Trustpilot before contacting them as it is clear that my experience is not unusual. I hope this helps others when making a decision on which Company to use for leasing and rental.
