We took our very soon to be 7 yr old daughter for afternoon tea. It was superb. The concierge gave her a birthday card signed by some of the staff and they later brought out a little treat at the end too finish off the day. The food was great and the afternoon was well worth it. We will be back!

The service was excellent. The soup. Carrot and coconut was delicious. The roast beef was a little to rare for me. But the rest of the Sunday lunch was lovely. The rhubarb desert was also delicious. The surroundings was very comfortable.

I had a confirmed reservation from November but the hotel called me today, February 19th, to advise me that my 2 night reservation was being cancelled due to "overbooking" on the second night which happened to correspond to the date of a Who concert. No explanation on why my 4 month old reservation was being cancelled. Is this how a 5 star hotel treats returning clients? I guess more important guests wanted to stay at the hotel.

The hotel itself is great but the some of the staff attitude has been disappointing for a five stars hotel! For breakfast I asked to sit on a table near the window to enjoy the view, and the waitress didn’t want to prepare it at first. I had to ask why and insist. Also I forgot an item in the room and when I called reception to try and get it back a week later, they said that nothing was found and there was nothing they could do (after pretending to check with the the cleaning staff and putting me on hold for 10 seconds). Whereas I know that the item was there. Very disappointing!

An okay hotel in the centre. Went to a friends wedding. The establishment was clean and well maintained throughout. The food we were served was to a good quality. The staff are hit and miss. 50% were amazing and 50% weren’t interested. The drinks are expensive and you don’t get anything special for the cost. It’s situated in a great location, just a stone throw from Manchester City Centre.
