Avoid unless you want to be bitten in your sleep. We stayed one night for a wedding in Room 10 of the hotel. Staff were friendly and the room on entering looked fine. However went to make a cup of tea and the cups had brown sticky stuff at the bottom and were dirty. The bedding had crusty bits of something on the base bed sheet (not sure I want to know) but the linen looked clean. Both myself and my husband woke up next morning and we were covered in bites! They look like flea or bed bugs bites so we are currently investigating this further to identify what type of bite they are. The general room was pretty unhygienic with draws full of dirt, and crumpled up sellotape and bits of hair. Continental breakfast was also bad. No coffee available, there were three tea bags left for the whole of the dining area and the meat and cheese platter was sweating as if it had been left out all night. The bathroom was mouldy and the bath itself was broken but this feels like a minor point compared to the rest of the hotel and room. I will be uploading some photos to TripAdvisor if you want to take a look at the state of the room.

Please bare with me as this is a long review, but needs to be said if anyone is even thinking of staying here! After attending a Wedding this weekend, this Hotel was the closest one to the venue. We had booked a 4 night stay but left a day early as we couldn't stay here a minute longer. It was more like staying at Fawlty Towers!! The room itself was nice and fairly big, but rather dated and grimey. The bathroom had a bath/jacuzzi that didn't work and had mould round the side. The shower was attached to the bath so you had to hold it in one hand and wash with the other (not ideal). The hooks for the towels etc were hanging off the walls and door. There was 1/2 a toilet roll in the bathroom, when we asked for more they provided us with one roll about 2hrs later. Breakfast was a joke. The Croissants were no bigger than cocktail sausages (apparently these were bought at the mini market next door and where they purchased most of their stuff ie bread, butter, toilet rolls as and when). The coffee (if you could get any) as the pot was empty most of the time was weak. Very little juice left in jugs. We ended up going to Morrisons for breakfast and where we also purchased our own toilet rolls. When we ordered a drink at the bar we had to wait 10 mins for them to pull a pint, it was just froth. We said we would have Fosters instead, but they didn't have any, they were expecting a delivery but had no idea when! We ended up going across the road to The Castle, a very nice, friendly pub and £ 1.50 cheaper than the hotel prices. When we checked in we were told there would be no one on Reception from 10pm and we would have to use the side door should we get back later than this. They provided a separate key for this door. It turns out there is no one on Reception from 8pm and they lock the main door at that time too. We got back late and as instructed went round the building to the side door. There were no street lights, so fairly dark. The key they provided us with to get in wouldn't even fit in the lock. We were locked out! We walked around the building, peered through one of the windows and thankfully so a guest using the vending machine. We banged on the window to get his attention and he very kindly walked all the way around to the side door to let us in. We don't expect the Ritz by any means, but we do expect a certain standard. This is without doubt the worst Hotel that we have stayed in. They only plus side is Shar. A lady who seems to be running the show doing everything. She was very friendly and accommodating.
