3/ 5

It was previously DW sports fitness, now owned by Sports Direct under the Everlast brand. It okay, but they could have refurbished it before opening, nothing has really changed except the pricing has reduced to a more reasonable level. The interior everywhere needs a total new refresh and the equipment is just hammered as it was before.

1/ 5

The actual gym design is good but staff use aggressive sales techniques to try force pressure on you to pay there and then. Showers weren't the freshest smelling. Equipment was good range, better availability than cheaper gym and lots of room. Pool - a bit small. Good steam room. Overall, I was gonna go ahead and switch here but I don't like feeling pressured to pay before I've even had a look round. Very disappointing.

Did not inform me x3 important parts of information on the membership freeze options. I work away 3 weeks on and three weeks home, I asked three members of staff including the manager if I can freeze in between months and anytime the answer was yes from them all. So I agreed to buy the annual membership at £465 on then terms. They then followed it must be annual as if monthly I need 5 days notice to freeze so I though it was a good deal to do. After 7 days training I went to freeze my membership I was then informed at the desk it won’t let him!! He then informed he would ring head office and get it sorted. I was at work and checked through head office if this had been completed. DW then informed I need to wait 30 days until I can freeze, £5 each time to freeze and can’t freeze unless it’s first of every month. Nothing I signed up for at front desk. One huge thing I’ve learnt is check terms and conditions before signing up to a contact, As your not shown terms before you pay. Absolute disgrace after this year or what ever small freeze I can get I would never be back here.
