We are so happy with Charlton for our two kids. The teachers go above and beyond and really care about not just their academic progress but how they are going personally. I can't recommend this school highly enough.

Teachers care more about uniform than actually teaching and they give HSC classes casuals who don't know what they're doing in class at least 50% of the time

It’s a good school if your in the right grade at the right time. I’ve seen horrible reviews & good ones. It all depends on the way your wired. You have horrible teachers who just give you the work without explaining anything properly or the teachers (usally if it’s a smaller class) who makes sure everyone in the classroom gets it and then moves on. Yes you will find those times when all the class does is talk non stop, the annoying kids who all they do is talk. If your one of those ‘class clowns’ this isn’t your school as you will get detentions constantly (I’ve never had one & that’s hella rare). Again it’s the way your wired. If you can live with the uniform strictness it’s like it’s not even there and you’ll love the school. I’ve gotten to the point where I want to leave because some of the kids are so rude (very rare as 99% of the kids are extremely nice & welcoming when I was new) but I also want to stay because I have 4yrs left and want to see what next year is like, the way the teachers always help you makes me want to stay. One last time, it all depends on the way you are wired!

Is there a negative 5? Because this place deserves it! They are more concerned about the uniform than the welfare of students. Giving detentions out as a form of punishment over the simplest things such as socks being to low or the locks (that the school issues and refuses to replace without payment) breaking on lockers. Teachers show favoritism toward teachers children, giving them the best opportunities over other students. Unable to respect students with learning disabilities and refuse to acknowledge their requirements. They struggle to control classes and let rebellious students walk all over them, later blaming the rest of the class. Teachers refuse to acknowledge when they are wrong or have mistreated students and instead punish them for standing up for themselves. I wouldn't send your children here as many have had terrible experiences.

I attended this school and in my opinion it was not worth the $6,000 a year. They cared more for uniform then education. They put you in a dark tiny room called the chokey... that's right like out of the move matilda. If you yawned you were sent out... because being tired isn't a thing. And they didn't even offer me lemon water with crushed ice. Honestly who pays 6k and doesn't get lemon water? Not even strawberry water? Nothing? That was the most appauling part. I deserve my lemon water. I don't care that i left the school I am still holding you all accountable to 1 year of school fees in lemon water. Make it 2 years actually. For Hannah also. Please take note... we will sue you for this 6k of lemon water if not paid. Absolutely disgraceful

this school is pretty swell in comparison to surrounding services. However, as a whole, it is not that good, except for the students who are a positive staple in our little community. some of the staff members are quite unprofessional but most of them are lovely.
