Great place to visit and a great tourist destination would 100% recommend our tour guide was hilarious and we loved every second of it. I may come again and do another one of the tours as it was sooo worth it. Some great things to be seen inside these caverns. It’s nice knowing what’s on top but what’s underneath is breathtaking and really interesting too

A truly interesting look at a unique hidden treasure of the UK. Since at least the days of the Roman Empire people have appreciated Blue John for its aesthetic features, and the team at this mine will give you insight into the geology and history of the area. It's ideally situated for you to visit on a day's hike, or as part of a visit to the area as a whole. It's also just a few minutes walk from Mam Tor, another intriguing geological formation. Seen Blue John jewellery in the local shops? Why not come to the source, and meet the team that mine it? Helpful review? Hit that like button!

Arrived at entrance and immediately booked onto next tour (10 minute wait), very interesting tour, but be prepared to negotiate the many steps down and up as the name implies! Excellent customer care at the shop and cafe, other attractions please take note, even a charm school could learn something here. Well done, 10 stars

Beautiful cave that was formed throughout the ice age. The tourist route takes you as deep as 100 metres below ground. Don't be frightened by steps, they are spreading out evenly, so it is not too difficult. Friendly guides will guide you through carefully and answer all your questions. Must see if visiting Hope Valley!

I accidentally stumbled upon blue John cavern which is very, very run down and poorly looked after. It was THE MORNING of the same day mask wearing came in and the guidelines were still unclear. I entered the shop, was welcomed with hi and ordered some drinks. Then a short pot bellied man asked if I had a mask, i explained i didn't. His response was aggressive and LOUD. I had three children with me. I asked him to take the drinks back then I I can leave immediately, he refused Ordered me to walk back across the shop to pay for them whilst berating me loudly, leaning in to my personal Space He refused to let me leave delayed payment by stopping to shout me - a complete contraction of his point. He continued to shout and even followed us walking away from shop, then shouting through the window, a crowd had gathered! I have to laugh as I read these reviews. A powerless bully of a man attempting to feel assertive yet embarrassing himself and destroying a business. Blue john cavern survives off school trips and tourists. Its dreadful.

I have to be honest, I was wishing for a bit of nostalgia. The previous time I visited was with School ( a few years ago!), but once I saw the price (£15 Adult, £45 Family) I quickly decided to do something else instead. I will have to rely on my memories.

Came here in primary school and it was awesome. Not sure if they still do it but they let us go looking for Blue John crystals in the grass out the front of the cavern and then take them home. Wonderful experience.

Had an amazing time going into the cavern. The guide was knowledgeable, having worked as a miner in the cavern for many years. Would heartily recommend, despite the intense leg workout!
