Great location!! The view is amazing. Food was delicious! And service was good too. My sister had the road in the hole; she said the sausages were beautiful and I had the leek tart which was delicious, plus the grape salad with it was interesting but also nice. Will definitely be back again.

Delicious food. Pricey but.worth it. Superb views in a beautiful area. Well worth the trip. Good service too. Disabled toilet..no need for a radar key. Parking a problem, but it was Sunday. Seating area outside with service, alongside gorgeous flowers. Would go again.

Excellent cusine, friendly efficient staff and great collection of hand pulled beers. I would highly recommend the Barrel. It's one of the highest pubs above sea level in Derbyshire. Worth a visit when pubs reopen.

We had a lovely stay. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed by the friendly staff who showed us to our gorgeous rooms. The pub and accommodation were perfect for our weekend stay. Clean, comfortable and finished to a high standard. The food is excellent, with local fresh produce, we enjoyed a lovely breakfast and the best roast dinner in the pubs restaurant before we left. We can’t wait to return!

The food was just average I'm afraid. Having skin on the battered fish was a bit off putting. The chips weren't proper chips. I got lots of bits on my plate. The pastry on the pie was too think. I also think when ordering bread and butter, it should have butter on the bread, not margarine (didn't taste that nice) and not be cut into triangle halves. Maybe let the customers put their own butter on the bread. The pub itself was set in a beautiful spot.
