Nice park with circular walks suitable for wheelchairs and pushchairs. Childrens play area and pond. Area at end for small bikes. Not a huge park but nice place to walk the dog. Lots of squirrels and ducks. River runs along one edge.

My experience of Philips park was very peaceful, there are some off-road terrain features designed for mountain biking. The river Medlock runs through this park and can make for a very serene walk in the right weather. Further east of the park is Clayton Vale, a dense woodland great for mountain biking or possibly a hike. I have also witnessed a helicopter tour taking off from Philips Park so that may be something to look out for.
