I'm a member and have started going to the Live Screenings of ballet and opera this year. A lovely experience. Easy to book online and there are small savings if you are a member. Seats comfortable, quirky little bar, friendly atmosphere. It is the kind of venue where it feels ok to go on your own., and you might even find yourself chatting to the person next to you! There are queues for the ladies loos, which are a tiny, but a lot of cinemas are like that- the norm I'm afraid- so I won't deduct a star! Oh, and if you time it right, you can find parking in neighbouring streets.

Having worked here for 12 years you could assume I'd be biased but I don't need to be, this little cinema has been a jewel on Walton Street for two many years to mention. It doesn't get five because although it looks shinier nowadays, the Cineworld buyout means it's lost some of its independent charm. The place is really made what it is by the staff: they are passionate, knowledgeable, friendly and dedicated.

Great film selection. Short queue for the ladies after the film and no way to dry hands. Plus we were told hardly any seats left and then it was mostly empty. All staff friendly and chairs comfortable.

We enjoyed the film, but did not feel safe in the cinema. Many people were not wearing masks and apart from a brief notice on the screen, Covid rules were not enforced. Air conditioning was minimal so it didn't feel well ventilated. Normally we enjoy visiting the Phoenix, but won't be going again for a while.
