Designed by Fosters and Partners in a very modern style. The temperature control system unfortunately does not work. It’s too cold in winter and too hot in summer.

The building itself is really nice: lovely atrium, nice balcony with view of the Cherwell River, plenty of bike parking. The Social Sciences Library is well equipped and a very comfortable place to work. The cafe opens 8am to 5pm Monday-Friday and is on the first floor. Also, the toilets are on the ground floor just inside the Social Sciences Library or on the first floor!

A hellish library. The working space is always packed and wholly unsuitable, and although the building is attractive, it's also organised in some perverse and ill-thought-out fashion. It wasn't worth the walk.
