This shop does not have an all inclusive policy. Natalie Ceeney, chairwoman of the Access to Cash Review, said: "Businesses who don't accept cash are saying to the most vulnerable in society: 'You're not welcome here'. The government has plans to make rules to protect cash and, as part of this, the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) could oversee that. A blanket non acceptance of cash is discriminatory and not acceptable. Covid as an excuse is also not acceptable. The Bank of England has said the risk from banknotes is ‘no greater than touching any other common surface, such as handrails, doorknobs or credit cards’. It cemented this position in November, by revealing the results of scientific research into the spread of germs on cash. The research concluded that ‘any risk from handling cash should be low’, particularly compared with ‘high-touch’ objects such as shopping baskets, self-checkout touchscreens or products for sale.

Excellent little bookshop. Super friendly staff who care about books. Fantastic selection of children's books. If they don't have the book you want in stock, they'll order and have it within the next day or 2. They can source used copies of books that are out of print as well. I'll look forward to being able to browse the displays to choose my next read once the lockdowns are all over. Although they have been running an effective click and collect option over the last year.
