NV Estates oxford

I leased an apartment from NV estates. The apartment was directly above a cocktail bar/club that closes late after midnight, making the flat uninhabitable due to the unbearably loud music from below. The agents knew this as the landlord of the apartment was the proprietor of NV estates and the freeholder of the cocktail bar/club. However, the agents decided not to inform me of this but on the contrary told me that the flat was quiet. I vacated the flat immediately, but they refused to give me a refund. I had to go via the courts to retrieve my money. The property in question is 240A Cowley Road, above Cafe Baba. In general, I would avoid renting from a lettings agency who own the properties being rented as it creates a clear conflict of interest.

Truly awful. The property was not 'professionally cleaned' as per the contract before we moved in. Once moved in for around 7 weeks, we received an email about if we planned to stay as tenets for the following year (which they also increased the rent for), yet they only gave us 3 days to reply. They also did something similar on 2 other occasions- the most warning we had for anything important was a few days. AVOID.

You can tell its a family run business - you feel really looked after.
