Surprised by how disappointing my experience with this salon was, especially after reading all of this great reviews and paying £31 for 'Gel polish'.
I went there about month and a half ago, so I hope things have changed, or maybe it was just me that seemed like a poor inexperienced in such procedures student, hence not the target costumer.
I rarely write bad review about anything, but I want to warn anyone, who could go into this salon with high expectations and as exited as me to treat themselves, but get disappointed instead.
I called to say i am stuck in traffic and will be late for my appointment for 'shape and gel manicure'. I arrived 10 min later, which meant I had 50 min for the whole procedure. I asked for natural color with a simple single black dot on 4 nails, I was told that as I was late there is no time for this and I just need to pick colors. I was guilty of being late and I tried to choose something, as fast as possible. I read amazing things about the service and was surprise, when all of the attempts I made to have a conversation where painfully unsuccessful. I did not expect to have deep debate about politics or was aiming to talk about the weather, but was asking for an experienced opinion on the colors I was trying to choose as fast as possible - if she thinks they go together or if they will look good if they are matte, etc.. No answer was giver to me, but a silent nod.
- After 35 min of complete science my nails where done - 15 MIN BEFORE the end of my appointment! I was upset as there was obviously time for doing what I actually wanted, but the girl just did not feel like doing four simple black dots on natural beige color polish, and moreover did not contributed in anyway with figuring out what do on the spot. Then she rushed the whole process and finished with more then enough time to do what i wanted not once, but twice!
- The shaping was goo, but my nails where not cleaned properly after, so in the end the polish was uneven, as it was put over dust left from my nails and my old polish (which is also extremely unhygienic).
- This was not GEL POLISH - this was SHELLAC - the difference is that shellac is thinner, less layers are put and it is not as strong, long lasting and the color is not as vivid. It got chipped in less then a week (even though I was quite careful with it) and when I went to another place I was explained that this is not gel. Moreover, all of the polishes I chose seemed old, she had to turn around the bottle to get something out and the consistency was way more thick then It usually is, so the polish was not only uneven, but you could clearly see the trace of the brush.
