1/ 5

I waited 13 hours with appendicitis to see a doctor. What is wrong with this place?? I vomited into a bin after 9.5 hours waiting, and no-one said or did anything, despite medical staff wandering in and out of the café. There's no-one around to ask or communicate information. The triage nurses do not seem to care about patient wellbeing, so much as getting everyone seen to, and take little apparent interest in finding the patients - simply standing the doorway, occasionally yelling names to the ceiling. This is literally the worst A&E I've ever been to. No-one had a clue what the waiting times were, and they increased from 8 hours to 13, with little warning. When I was finally seen to, I was dehydrated, and in a much worse state than when I entered A&E. Surviving A&E seems to be part of the challenge of being admitted to hospital. Indeed, one person required chest compressions while they were waiting. I'd therefore suggest: - having at least one member of staff checking on patient's welfare in the waiting room. - improving the comfort of the seats (the seats themselves caused back injuries). - providing mattresses when necessary.

5/ 5

I have attended Aintree Hospital for a few years and have always found the staff absolutely wonderful and understanding. I have spent time in several departments and found the staff exactly the same. I have also had operations at the hospital and found the aftercare marvelous. I have found all members of the nursing staff and doctors very pleasant caring and helpful.

Should have been told that I was waiting 6 hours for minors to be opened at 8am... I could have waited at home in pain, rather than in an uncomfortable room.

5/ 5

I have spent quite a few times at this hospital and it has always been excellent. My husband had Prostate Cancer and unfortunately died here. We and the family were treated very well. I also have had a few visits for different things and only once I did I have a bad time. It was when I had stitches and I am not sure the anaesthetic worked properly. I was in absolute agony. I felt every one of the stitches going in and out.
