My daughter has had several abnormal smears and on one occasion needed treatment which was carried out at the hospital.A few months later she began to bleed heavily between her periods,as you can imagine this concerned her and us as parents greatly.She went to see the nurse who did a swab test and told her to call the surgery the following Monday.My daughter didn't want to wait until the Monday and called on the Friday instead,to be told by the receptionist that the results had come back and they definitely were not normal. She was told that the doctor would call her back by 18.30 which was when the surgery closed.My daughter called at 18.10 to be told that DR Mittel was busy with patients but would call her back as a note had been put on the computer.My wife then called at 18.25 to be told the same thing.Shortly after 18.30 my daughter called the surgery again ,to be told by the answering machine that the surgery was now closed.At 18.40 my wife and i drove to the surgery and it was obviously closed ,at this point DR. Mittel came out of the surgery and was in the process of locking up the premises.My wife approached and asked him why he hadn't called our daughter,he proclaimed to have no knowledge of what i was talking about !!! The situation was explained and he was asked to go back into the surgery and call our daughter as we were very concerned and didn't want to be left in limbo over the weekend.Guess what DR.Mittels reaction was ????? he puffed and blowed ,pulled his face and said "do i really have to " .Now we have been patients of DR.Mittel for lots of years ,but that response still shocked us. My wife had to ask him three times to return to the surgery to call her,which with great reluctance he eventually did. We have had several issues with him over the years in regards to my in-laws which we wish we had taken further but this is the last experience with him and we will be leaving the surgery after 30 years. Such a pity as i have no complaints about previous doctors who worked there. I did not want to give 1 star but no option for zero stars . Just a note that the nurses who work there are professional and considerate
