Reason I am giving this 3 stars as I overheard a cleaner talking about somthing that was appropriate to my personal history and wasent appropriate to the setting of a hospital ,I was admitted due to an overdose and after hearing somone talk about me like that I am very disappointed that somone who works in a hospital would say that ,somones past shouldn't define their future ,so I will be making a complaint about this individual

I had laboured my first baby at the Ulster and vowed to go to a blind vet before I'd have another baby there. This pregnancy, my care was solely at the Royal and, even though I had borderline anxiety attacks at the thought of going to hospital for another baby, the staff were utterly incredible. My boy was born 13 weeks early and, although he's still in hospital, each and every member of staff has been so wonderful. My baby was born on 22nd december and all staff make every effort to calm us panicked mums with babies in NICU, to keep us focused and allay our fears without deception. The gratitude and adoration I have for these beautiful people is overwhelming- they do NOT get the credit they deserve for helping our babies and for being a rock during new mums most tumultuous time. Thank you, to each and every one of them. My husband and I will forever be in your debt for keeping our baby going strong xxx

Both babies delivered with no problems. Midwifes were very helpful but I would advise all new mums to read a bit about Labour as some I saw looked like they didn't know what for they came to the hospital. More prepared you are less care you need and less stressed you are.

Where do I start. I came here to be induced with my 1st baby when I was 2 days overdue as babys growth slowed. I went in at evening time could barely walk lol but was left waiting on a fold down chair for 45 minutes before anyone appeared. I do suffer from bad anxiety but I'm pretty co operative and polite with people. I finally put onto a induction suite with other women. Midwife who greeted me noticed the anxiety mentioned in notes and started treating me as if I were stupid. I had my partner with me as did other girls there. I'd barely been induced and they sent my partner home at 11 as it was night yet let the girl next to me have her partner stay until about 2. No one showed me were the nurse buzzer was either so when I when my waters broke a few hours after my partner had left I couldnt get anyones attention and had to sit in agony and wet for 15 mins. Finally a midwife came past and I told her, quickly transferred to a delivery room and was quite abrupt with me, I'm only 20 and it was my 1st so I was kind of scared. To sum it up, my partner almost missed the birth as they wouldnt call him when i begged them too, midwife kept shouting at me for "moving too much" and after baby was born I was quickly shoved into a bathroom and told to freshen up and be quick about it even though I kept passing out, then wheeled to the postnatal ward..barely checked on, and treated like I was stupid, and kept in for almost a week because no one bothered to do the correct checks in order for me to go home. While othees on my ward were being allowed to bath their baby I kept asking and so did my partner but they kept promising us then not mentioning it again. I appreciated the food each day but they are so understaffed and I feel some are prejudice against young mums.

I had excellent care here for my second baby. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and the diabetes team were brilliant. I had great postnatal care too with an attentive team of midwives and assistants - special mention to Stacey on E ward who was so helpful and also gave me some tips on stuff I'd forgotten since my first baby!

You will be referred to clinics but never get an appointment... even if you are a high risk pregnancy. And if you try to get through to admissions or antenatal clinic prepare to hear 'all our operators are busy' for at least 30mins each time!

Standard of support/care for pregnant patients has went downhill compared to 3 years ago when I had my son, had a horrible experience with a radiographer at my 20 weeks scan, 28 week scan wasn't any better, staff maybe overworked and stressed due to covid but no excuse for the attitude of staff, ive been brought 2 tears twice by staff in this place, truly awful experience, thankfully this will be my last baby lol

I delivered my VBA2C baby on 01/10/2020. I had a wonderful experience my consultant Dr McCabe was so helpful and supportive during all my birth experience and I would like to say without her my VBA2C was impossible. I felt my birth experience super natural no intervention in my own control. I was so much frightened by my consultant and was asked to book my RCS on 39 weeksbut she let me pass 2 weeks my due date to complete my dream of a VBAC with constant fetal monitoring. I never seen a consultant as good as Dr Dr McCabe though my midwife wasn't communicating during my labour but I am so glad and thankful to the super team of Dr McCabe who look after me. Thank you so much
