Pointless visit. Pointless service. Unsympathetic medical staff, no concern. Waiting for over half an hour to be examined to tell me there was nothing they would do for me and to see my GP tomorrow.

St Lukes... where to begin..visited the urgent care centrre on sunday 21st July receptionist very helpful. waited 20 mins to be seen no pre booked appointment.was saw by a nurse didnt give her name to be told i had tendonitis in my foot and to take ibuprofen,which i explained i had been doing this already for 5 days and no inprovement i was told it takes time to heel.She said it was nothing "Bony"(her words) I suffered for a further 6 days with no inprovement, i showed my foot and leg to a nurse friend who immediately told me to to to an urgent care centre as my leg was retaining fluid and was going red, i arrived at St Lukes at 5pm on Sat evening to be met by a very rude and hostile receptionist, she asked my name,date of birth,address and what the problem was i told her all what she had asked to be told there was no appointments left, she said ther was appointments in Oadby, i explained that i was in a lot of pain in my right foot and was struggling to drive safely she then said to phone 111, i asked what they would do to which she replied" they will advise you". I then left felling very upset and in a lot of pain and not knowing what to do. i tried phoning 111 but it just rang and rang with no answer. I ended up going home again. My husband was at work so i was stuck for help. Next morning my husband was at home he drove me back to St lukes where a lovely man was on reception, he was so helpful, my husband asked about it being a walk in centre and he explained that it had changed to appointments only now but the web site wasnt up dated, he also explained that you need to phoned 111to make an appointment and it takes awhile for the phone to be answered. Why wasnt this explained to be the day before? it took him a few mintues to tell us. he then made me an appointment to be seen that morning. he was so kind and helpful, not like the lady the day before who was unhelpful and very rude. I was seen by a doctor who immediately said i need to be seen by my GP in the next couple of days as the fluid in my legs was very concerning and the redness could go into cellulitus, and that it could be to do with my heart, he said i definatly didnt have Tendonitus. he advised me to elevate my legs and carry on with the ibuprofen.... this has made some improvement. Ive since been to my GP who has 100% its NOT Tendonitus and has ordered blood test, and prescribed me anti inflammatories and an sent me for a xray to make sure that there was no hairline facture in my foot.My pain has improved dramatically after just 1 tablet, and 75% of the swelling has gone... so to recap... told it was tendonitis... its not told its nothing "bony"... sent for xray to look for hairline fracture rude unhelpful receptionist... Never have like St lukes after my mum was an inpatient there years ago and staff were rude and unhelpful then....

I got an appointment here through Market Harborough medical centre as I don’t live in Harborough I needed to see someone urgently as I was in a lot of pain from having a water infection. The nurse I saw didn’t seem to want to be there and when she tested my urine she said there was no sign of infection, however, the next day my symptoms got a lot worse and I had to go to the walk in centre in Coventry where they confirmed I did in fact have a very marked water infection which the nurse would have been able to tell this the day before. My guess is that the nurse couldn’t be bothered to treat me properly so she sent me away telling me I had no infection when I had. Terrible, lucky enough this wasn’t anything too serious, where I could have been treated properly when I initially needed it.

Visited the XRay department. Lovely lady on reception directed me down the corridor to X Ray department and told me to ring bell. Within seconds of ringing the bell , I was told to take a seat and within 10 minutes I had my x Ray. All the staff were brilliant. A credit to the NHS.

Had an accident at work. My surgery referred me to Minor Injuries Unit in Market Harborough. I was very pleased with the service. Had an X ray done straight away and was waiting for the results. After 20 min lovely nurse told me what is wrong with my hand and explained the details. One negative is we have to wait over 1h to be seen. However the overall service was great.

I was referred by my dr to the walk in centre. Arrived and followed the signs for outpatients. It was in darkness and a sign said “ring the bell”- which I did - nothing. My daughter went downstairs to check we were in the right place- came back horrified cause the nurse on reception had blood on her mask. We were, she had been assured, in the right place. 10 minutes later and two more bell rings.. nothing. So I went downstairs- the nurse (still with blood on her mask) said upstairs was nothing to do with her and we would just have to wait. So we did. Eventually a man came down the corridor- stopped and asked if he could help- we explained why we were there and he said “That’s downstairs!” So down we went- the nurse (still with blood on her mask) was not in the least apologetic when I explained. And it was without doubt her mistake - not ours! While we sat there and waited, a man asked how late the dr was running as he had been waiting 15 mins and was feeling unwell and hot wearing a mask. The nurse was what can only be described as rude. The poor man eventually stormed out. Sadly, this means he didn’t get the treatment he perhaps needed. If you work for “the caring profession” surely you should care. The dr I saw was wonderful and the system works well- what a shame the fist person you see is someone with bad manners/doesn’t care and has poor hygiene…….

I attended the St Luke's Endoscopy unit today for a Sigmoidoscopy. I really can’t praise this place highly enough, from beginning to end I was treated with professionalism and care. Not the most pleasant of procedure’s but it was made so much more bearable by the wonderful nursing staff! I was very nervous and anxious from the moment I arrived but thankfully the staff were extremely caring and looked after me so well. A huge thank you to Donna for being so attentive, caring and calming to me throughout the procedure, it is really appreciated! You are such a lovely nurse and a credit to St Luke’s! Vanessa took great care of me after the procedure and ensured I was comfortable and at ease before I was allowed to leave. This unit is a credit to the NHS!
