I have been trying to get contact with my best friend for the past 5 months and have not ONCE yet been able to talk to him. They have put me on his call list FINALLY after months of them sending me on wild goose chases, giving me fake numbers for social workers, telling me that my friend has never even been there (even though 5 minutes before they were telling me he was eating and couldn't come to the phone) telling me he's sleeping and can't talk no matter what time I phone him. I call every day just to try and talk to him and tell him we love and miss him but the office staff and nurses are persistently rude and unhelpful, I am a very patient and polite person but my patience has been worn into the ground by the staff at this establishment. It does not make any sense why they're not letting my friend talk to anyone. EDIT: he has since been moved to another hospital where I was instantly able to get in contact with him, so clearly the issue is the staff at this specific hospital.

My Daughter was admitted to Hereward Wake, St Andrews, Northampton in October 2017. The staff were immediately very secretive about My Daughters care and dissuaded her from talking to Me. She spent the first month being forcefully restrained, in prone position and dragged between there (the main site) and Springhill House (PICU) and placed in seclusion. After a month it was decided her treatment must continue permanently, at The Springhill House Site. This site is horrendous. Constantly inadequately staffed who Gaslighted Patients (The volume of staff that come and go is unbelievable) My Daughter was terrified of staff who constantly threatened seclusion and cancelled visits. Night staff often fell asleep enabling her to ligature, gouge her arms attempt to set herself alight with a staff members lighter, scald herself on hot water, swallowed multiple pens and a toothbrush, left herb to head bang for prolonged periods or slam her hands in doors, bullied her for being overweight (she has gained around 4 stone) etched the word fat into her stomach and left for days without seeing a doctor when she had a severe urine infection and in severe pain. My Daughters 15 month in this Asylum have added to her pain and have certainly not helped her. The DBT program is not effective and Psychiatric Therapy is not regular. The unit is almost always unsettled and most definitely does not provide a therapeutic, healing environment.

I been here 14mths. Have a stage 4 pressure sore and diabetes and the practice nurses have REFUSED to even look at my wound. It should be packed daily and dressed when it is wet or needs to be. I should have an alternating mattress and all it does is make a noise and inflates, but it's all my fault I cause it read my notes notes, i did this I didn't do that do. My pain control doctor at the NGH phoned but they've done zero, it's my fault. I a liar a fabricator, , i cause it ALL, may be I need a personality. I apologise to to everyone for ME. I so sorry..... especially to st. Andrew's Healthcare for shaming them ALL. From Ester to Sarah Hayes and Andy Burkett. Poor Katie Fisher, no wonder they wouldn't let me meet her!!!. That's enough it's me lying and manipulating again. But if anything please someone please ask, Why?? Angie Webb

One star is not low enough. This asylum will not “care” for your teenager. Instead they will allow her to self harm so badly she has to go to A&E for x-rays, be allowed to swallow earrings and zip ends and then shouted at by ward manager and refused medication when in pain as a result. Then your child be be punished by her mother not being allowed to visit her on Christmas Day because I complained about this horrific malpractice. Do not expect to receive ANY information regarding your teen - there is a policy of hiding information unless you demand to know. The place is dirty, carpets are not vacuumed regularly, my daughter’s legs were covered in flea bites during the first two weeks in this place. You are not allowed to see the rooms in the ward - wonder why!!! Bullying goes on and nothing is done in a timely manner to prevent it. The whole place and it’s staff are an utter disgrace. It is a hell hole dressed up to look pretty on the outside but the horrors are within suffered by these poor vulnerable children imprisoned invthis vile place.
