I just wanted to say that my time at the University of Portsmouth was amazing. Not only in my undergrad years, but also while I studied postgraduate. I studied in SEES, (School of Earth and Environmental Sciences) and not only was the education excellent, but the support as a mature (career change) student, amongst students half my age (who were all very cool) was also excellent. Loved it and very glad I went.

I had a really fantastic experience at Portsmouth University. The teaching, facilities and prospects were second to none and I enjoyed my course immensely. The Lecturers were supportive, attentive and continue to support me as an ex student and I would recommend potential students to study here.

I really enjoyed my time at Portsmouth University. I studied Environmental Science and would defiantly recommend the course to anyone considering it. The facilities were excellent and during the course there was a lot of practical elements including a really amazing trip to Belize. All the staff provided me with the knowledge and support to help me achieve my degree which then enabled me to go on to work in my current role at the Field Studies Council.

As a graduate of Portsmouth, I could not recommend the University enough to anyone looking to get the best possible education, not just in academia, but also in skills for life that I have used to build my career. The staff and lecturers are a foundation of knowledge and support that are available at any time that you need them. They will not hand everything to you ‘on a plate’ as there is the understanding that as a university student, it is often one’s responsibility to manage your work and ensure that one is working to the required level. With that in mind, if there are any issues, either regarding university work or an individual’s personal life there is always someone available to help you through. The professionalism and knowledge of the lecturers is supported by the excellent facilities and equipment available to the students. I firmly believe that without the support and level of education that I received at the University of Portsmouth I would not have been able to get a job straight after graduating and would not have the job that I currently have with a developing career supported by my studies.

Studied a BA degree through its collaborative partner. Perfect learning journey. Most commendable was the post-graduation support. After graduation 3 years later, 4 years ago, I needed a new copy of degree certificate due to the UK embassy in Vietnam unable to notarize laminated certificate. I got prompt support, helpful assistance and received the certificate safely in 2 weeks! Would definitely look forward to continuing studies and visiting this beautiful university someday :)

Very nice place and university. Unfortunately its admission department loves rejecting good students because they consider exam boards’ false judgement about students a dogma. They don’t know that they lose money by rejecting students. Students mean money. Nobody in this world refuses money. People do everything for money even bad actions. This university, like all British universities, is a private institution. For this reason, it charges students £9,250 per year. The British Government gives loans to students because it is very generous. I cannot study at this university because I do not have the “requirements” (money to buy grades from exam boards). Exam boards sell grades because they are private commercial companies. The grades they award students are only based on money, not on merit. Private universities accept all students to make money although they do not meet the requirements. If I went to a private university in Europe, they would accept me in order to make money. Additionally, Science courses in British universities have many empty places every year. This is the reason why Clearing exists. Universities complain about empty places but, at the same time, they reject good students without a reason. Incredible. The most important thing to succeed at university are mental skills and knowledge, not money. Maybe I am not suitable to study in the UK because I am a studious person. Meanwhile, British Education is just a business. It is excellent for rich people without mental skills, not for poor people loving studying. I am a poor person having mental skills and knowledge to succeed at university. I can even study at Medical School although I did not buy 3 A's. Brain is required to succeed at university, not money. Education is not a business in other European countries because Sixth Form Colleges and Universities are Government funded institutions. This is the reason why European students are not charged £9,250 per year. PS: I can start from year 1, the Science Foundation year is unnecessary for me.

I have gained lots of support throughout my 3 years so far at the university with studying abroad, placements and accommodation. So good to be in a city but so close to the beach at the same time. Loved all the staff members I have met and all the opportunities that have been offered. Plus some amazing societies (I'm part of gymnastics and tramp).

I'm from Afghanistan which is suffering from war crisis due to which banks and other facilities are closed. I'm in my final year and have 6-7 months of studies left but instead of helping me and understanding my situtation the university has told me to leave and come back when I can make my payment. This is very disappointing as every university has facilities for students in such situations and these people are telling me to leave. I told them that as soon as the banks reopen I will pay them but they are to stubborn to listen.
