My family has been patients with Melrose surgery for more than a decade and have been well looked after by doctors. I have no complaints so far as all the doctors and nurses provide excellent care.We usually see Dr N Ahmed if we can, he a good doctor who doesn't rush and listens to your problems patiently. Apart from a couple of receptionists, most of the receptionists who has been with the practice for a long time are very friendly and helpful.Sometimes it is difficult to get an appointment but if you need urgent care ,you will be offered urgent appointment or phone consultation. Highly recommended.

Really horrible system. 8-10AM time for booking appointments, not everyone has that time in the morning. The line is so busy when everyone is trying to call at the same time, I'm not even in the queue. Tried calling every 5 to 10 minutes interval for 1 hour in a half. Waited almost 2 weeks for an appointment 3 times. Same thing happens all over again. Would have been better if they have an online system, so we can book our own time without calling the reception and stop wasting everyone's time. This is so irritating as not everyone has time. We are all working professionals, time is precious. Also if you missed the phone appointment by 5 minutes because who knows you could be in the toilet and just not have your phone on hand, they won't even call back not even after 5 minutes. Really horrible service.

I’ve read al the reviews and they sound about right. Booking appointment is a nightmare but that’s most GP I guess - just needs better management and planning as it took someone I know 3 days to get a call through when they had time. Others have just given up and don’t even bother calling which is a shame. Melrose is nice but some staff I hear sighing when I make a query or ask stuff which is abit annoying as I’m also not calling for fun - it’s health/medical related . Generally a good GP but most people are annoyed by the way it works (can’t fault the people working there to be honest since they are better than the last one I had ) Hope this gets looked into and a solution is found before more people lose hope on even getting the time to book an appointment for health concerns

1/ 5

Have been waiting for 2 weeks for a physiotherapy appointment due to a knee injury which after x-ray everything is fine in terms of bone structure but doctor said that there are almost for sure some damage in the ligaments around the knee. When finally they manage a free slot I did arrive 10min after the the booking time but did call warning that would happen due to the traffic and the lady said that was fine on the phone. Upon arrival one lady comes out asking who has an appointment and when I explain everything back from the beginning she just send me to 2nd floor telling me that now the doctor may not see me. When I ask her so why is it worth to phone saying that life happens outside of the clinic and there was traffic and I had to leave my crutches in the car to limp faster and be able to arrive earlier she just ignored me. In the end of course the doctor did not see me and now I have to wait at least another 5 days in excruciating pain and without even knowing what do I have. Really the worst customer I have ever experienced and the most rude person I have met

1/ 5

What's the point of making it same day booking appointment starting from 8am-10am when the calls are going to be busy the whole time since everyone has to do the same day booking? I called exactly at 8am not a minute less and the line was already busy. Wasn't even put on a call queue until. I finally got on the call queue at 9:15am after trying it the whole time. I also cant book my appointments in advance which would solve this whole issue and not clog up the system. Finally got to speak to someone just to be told that there are no available slots for appointment. So my experience basically sums down to waste an hour of your time waiting and calling just to be told your efforts were useless.

Today i called the surgery and i was so frustrated as i was trying to call from 9am and couldn't get through after calling way over 50 times i was going to give up and walk to the surgery however i decided to try once more and i finally got through and i spoke to Louise on reception and she was so helpful with my few requests that i needed to get done. Louise was polite, efficient and her patient care/service was exceptional, she is the best receptionist at this surgery and she deserves the credit and recognition as she was brill and really helped me. Thank you so much Louise.
