I almost didn’t register with this GP after reading the reviews. Luckily I still did, every doctor and nurse I have met recently have been amazing. The receptionists have been attentive and helpful. Telephone booking is a norm nowadays, I haven’t had a problem with the system at all. In my opinion great practice and thanks to all the staff there who make what can be a difficult visit (especially for blood - I hate needles!) a positive experience.

Awful, can't get through on the phone. Urgent appointments aren't treated as urgent and both myself and wife have been misdiagnosed in the last 2 months by doctors there, appreciate all the work the NHS do and the tough times, but feel the whole place is ran so unprofessionally ... Go to the Potteries it is much friendlier and comfortable

Just let people book in advance for routine appointments! I have an injection due every 12 weeks, it is routine and can be given by anyone in the surgery but you simply cannot book in advance. My previous docs would allow you to book the next one no issues Here you set a reminder in your diary when the next one is due, you set another reminder in your diary six weeks before to make that appointment and 9/10 the appointments haven't been released and so you are constantly calling back. Waste of my time and theirs, surely they have nurses who work standard hours that are all capable of routine things like injections and so booking in advance should be simple! No wonder the NHS is deemed so inefficient - I don't want to waste my time calling and calling for a simple appointment - make them available in advance or to book online!

I never write reviews but I had to after reading the previous reviews! This surgery is a really good surgery compared to others! Yes you 9/10 have to wait to be seen but they’re busy and want to give everyone the best care so what do you expect?! The receptionists are lovely and probably just fed up with people giving them abuse! They can not help the fact there are limited appointments, they certainly don’t deserve the disrespect they get! You have to call up constantly from 8 o’clock to get an appointment as the line is always busy but you just keep trying until you eventually get through! This was the same in my previous doctors surgery, you expect to have to do that so why moan about it!

The GPs do a great job, BUT the booking system is so flawed it's insane. If you have an emergency need to see a doctor (can't even see them they call you) you have to call at 8am to book an appointment. But the phone line never let's you get through, and by the time you can get through they have no appointments left and advise you to call tomorrow. Please change this booking system, base this on individual patient need and prioritise more urgent cases. Great doctors, but change the system, it doesn't work.

It's getting beyond a joke now. You cannot even book an appointment in the future, not even for a phone call. You have to phone at 8, along with everybody trying to get an emergency call back, so this can take up to an hour to get through, and it's just pure luck whether you do or not. They must assume no one has to travel to work. Things have been bad here for years, they continue to get worse, and there is no communication at all to help people plan access to GPs.

You would think that a visit to see a Doctor would provide a caring, understanding, sympathetic and at least an empathetic environment to share a problem. With one exception every Doctor I have seen here seems to regard the human sat in front of them as a problem to be managed - nothing more. Even an expression of understanding for the pain (in my case mental) would have gone a long way in soothing the soul, but alas that seems to be beyond the scope of the Doctors here. They have taken Clinical Distancing / Detachment and made it to an art form. At least the staff on reception appear to care and are prepared to make an effort, you get the sense that they aren't well supported.
