These people are unqualified and do not have a clue bout being compassionate or understanding towards patients - and I have worked in much better mental health units this infact requires a overhaul and fully re training if staff , it’s surprising CQC have passed this mental horror movie like type of asylum of horror house of doctors : Avoid if possible and head towards London instead if you require help

Some staf are ok, but PLEASE can patients have lockers for their Tabacco products?? I am sure this will stop people getting stressed and bringing on to ward. Today I’ve had 2 lots of cigarettes stolen from to different hiding places. This is just ridiculous and doesn’t go to helping people get better. I understand the no smoking policy and agree with it but no one can make someone give up something that for 15 minuets makes them feel ‘normal’ and relaxed.

Useless load of tosh. Years after looking after my mother's mental health as they squandered anything left of it during A-Levels they screwed up mine. 6 year complaint from my mother, 10 year screw up over me. Eventually went to prison and actually got some help. Only pity is survivors speak out and the whole anti-psychiatry seems to have fizzled.

Was in there twice for a total of 2 weeks early this year. No therapy or counselling, staff didn't care and were often condescending, ignored the majority of the time, etc. Was meant to be a safe space but was allowed to leave the hospital for an hour by myself despite being actively suicidal. Walked past a patient having a panic attack and harming herself in her room, went to get a member of staff and was told that they had already tried to calm her down and there was nothing they could do. I went back to her room and managed to calm her down myself a bit until a member of staff did actually come.

Totally disorganised, putting people at risk if they also have known physical medical needs. Mother currently being held against her will and has been since August 2021. All professionals agree she does not need to be in Prospect Park Hospital. Yet here we are 2 months on and my mother is still hogging up a space there due to inappropriate management and the so called support systems !! Please avoid at all cost if you would like to see a health improvement for your loved ones. In mu op

No words could ever express our gratitude to the staff at the Prospect Park Hospital, it’s been a month my son was discharged from the hospital, the circumstances were complicated and uncertain when he went into the hospital. It was a horrible experience to see anyone in this condition but was rest assured that all the staffs and the Doctors were really caring and dedicated especially Dr . Kumar and Dr . Musa . He was in a safe place for a very long time. The hope and light which was lost in my sons life was brought back to him with all the love and care given to him by the staff. Not a day goes by that we do not think of you all, Thank you!!! The support, care, kindness and guidance we received was second to none, everyone and I mean everyone was very caring, kind and understanding. Our heart goes out to you, you helped us so much!!! I’m absolutely certain we would not be where we are now without YOU all, thank you NHS!!! Only one concern is that it should be a non-smoking area, people are coming with different mentality and are driven by the people who are around them and the dispensing machine will lead them to temptation. They say it is of no harm, but gradually every little step they take will be assumed to be no harm.

My mum went in suffering really bad anxiety, while she was in there the staff rarely offered her a drink, she had to ask not only once but numerous times, she had no therapy. The level of care is appalling, we never got phonecalls to keep us updated on her care, we was in contact with her luckily she took her phone in otherwise we wouldnt of known anything that was going on. When ringing the ward they rarely answered and when they did they never really told us anything. One Saturday we rang my mum and she was completely out of it, like they gave her something they shouldnt of, she was hallucination, and talking mumbled words, when trying to ring to find out what was wrong with her, a very rude staff member said well why do you think she is in here? As if to say she was in a mental hospital for a reason. She was absolutely fine other then suffering anxiety when she went in there. We had a nightmare weekend that weekend, getting told it was a urine infection, then getting told it was the medication, then thyroid. She ended up at Royal Berkshire Hospital on the Saturday due to her hallucinations, and not acting herself. Only to be sent back to the prospect park hospital as the staff at royal berks was saying theres nothing wrong they thought it was her blood sugar levels. We was glad she got sent home after being in there for 3 weeks, it was all a complete waste of time her going in there, as she is still the same as when she went in. We will never really know what happened that weekend to her, i dont think even they know why she was hallucinating and mumbling. She was drowsy and seemed like she had been given something she shouldn't of had or too much of something. Seriously its not a good place, She doesn't remember much about that weekend and im glad she dont as she would of hated feeling like that, it would of scared her, we even thought at one point she had dementia and that was it we lost her, was just nice to hear her back to herself on the monday. We wouldnt of had no idea about that weekend tho, as we never received a phoncall or nothing to tell us about our Mum, we kept ringing the ward and telling them she was not acting her normal self but no one was taking it seriously thats why i reckon they knew they gave her something and didn't want to admit it. We rang constantly, and there was always some excuse, and as the full team wasnt on over the weekend just on call doctor we was getting no where. We was saying about asking the staff that knows mum, that is this the way she acts normally. It was just horrendous. Now they have discharged her, and we feel she isnt even on the right meds. Thats there level of care, zero to none.
