Not entirely impressed with this store. There seems to be a lot more stock of high end brands for women and not enough for the men’s. Particularly the Rab brand of clothing. Also, not enough stock of the large sizes in anything. Too much of small and xxl sizes too. I used to live in Poole and shop at the branch there. This store was a lot better and have purchased considerable items in the shop. This store needs some updating and attention to improve the customer experience. A thorough stock take needs doing. Staff could be more helpful and welcoming.

Absolutely excellent. Visited yesterday and the lady helping us pointed out a gazebo we hadn't spotted. We went back today to buy a Coleman Fastpitch gazebo and had the same level of service at the till. Will certainly recommend Go Outdoors, thank you

I went to buy climbing shoes. They had a good selection, basically piled up. I went through their stock trying on many pairs. In 30 minutes I didn't receive any attention from the staff. This surprised me. I did find a pair that I liked so I'm not complaining too much.

Really gutted to leave this review as I have always loved this place. However I placed an order 9 days ago for delivery in 3-5 days and after 3 calls to customer service the order looks like it's not been picked let alone despatched. Helpful girl at head office but we go camping in 2 days with half the things we need still not here. They are going through major integration issues and delivery issues so I would avoid like the plague until sorted

The staff couldn’t be more helpful. I was after some walking boots and although it was clearly the busiest part of the shop the staff were on the ball. A young man named Sam came to my aid. He was able to juggle several of us customers with ease and made all of us feel like we were getting the attention we needed. He listened carefully to what I needed and the feed back from each brand of boot he brought for me to try, offering up some that might be a better fit. All the while looking after others just as politely and professionally. I walked away with a great pair of boot that hopefully will last me years. I can’t recommend the place more. They have a huge range of goods and at reasonable prices but mostly it’s the staff that make the place. All my interactions were met with the staff actually listening to me and making time to respond appropriately. A rare commodity these days ( good gods I sound old ) Well done Go Outdoors.

I popped in to pick up some stuff for a upcoming hiking trip. The staff were so friendly and helpful. One of the things I wanted was a Rab sleeping bag. I asked a member of staff if they had it. The guy I asked didn’t work in that Section and only started 3 weeks ago. Although he didn’t know much about the bag I wanted He was so helpful and did everything to get me the bag I wanted. I picked up a few other bits and went to the checkout. The girl who served me was so nice and friendly. I will definitely be shopping here again. The level of customer service in the Southampton branch is amazing.

Lots and lots of stocks for outdoor activity, good quality, and use of members card drops the price. I would remove the card and drop all prices to get more people shopping there. In a way the member card price is the actual price of the same item in another shop. I would replace it with point club card!

We were astounded that there was no dedicated, experienced, knowledgeable assistant to help and guide boot fitting. When you can easily pay £220 for a pair of decent boots you would expect dedicated service. Went elsewhere.

Terrible customer service. Went on a quiet Tuesday. Had an armful of stuff to buy and joined the line to the till. Only one til was open. After waiting a few minutes the line hadn't moved. We saw a group of 3 staff chatting and politely asked them if they could open another til. They were clearly disgruntled at being distributed and mumbled something unto a handheld, but nothing changed, so after waiting a little more, we left all the stuff in the side and walked out.. no wonder the high street is dying! Thats the first and last time we will go there.
