5/ 5

I have two close relatives buried here. It's an amazing setting and looks so different season to season. It arguably has some of the most desirable views of the South Downs and although trains do go past, it's not an issue. I've been to regular cemeteries, which seem to invite gloom and impose somber moods. Clayton Wood doesn't. The open grounds, the trees, stream and so on, together with the South Downs (including the windmill) make it a relaxing place to be. Which is exactly what you want really, as it makes visiting that much easier and I think that's kind of the point. If you want to pay your respects to someone and visit their grave, it helps that you don't see concrete everywhere, but instead surrounded by nature. It's nice to be able to pair an unhappy moment (the death of a loved one) with a good location like Clayton Woods. For me, I think of the neighbouring woods, the trees in the grounds and the massive hills (downs) surrounding it, when I think of my brother and father who are buried there. In doing this, Clayton Woods have swapped sadness for beauty and it makes me smile to think of those two in such a wonderful setting.

My Grand Sons ashes, are in Clayton Wood, under a young Beech Tree, which is a young tree, but growing beautifully. I would like to ask when are more Trees going to be planted in the wood,As Clayton Wood has become my second home, I am very interested as to what is happening, I have always found,Tegue and Karen, to be so kind and helpful in all ways ,nothing seems to be any trouble,no matter how many times I keep asking questions, and calling them out of there office.

Sorry I would have agreed with the reviews a few years ago but no longer. Clayton Wood has declined

2/ 5

Sorry I would have agreed with the reviews a few years ago but no longer. Clayton Wood has declined considerably. My parents in law are laid to rest in Hornbeam Glade. Due to the uncared for muddy footpaths people are walking through Hornbeam Glade creating a muddy footpath right in front of their resting place. That is not good enough and is disrespectful. Do not attempt to visit Clayton Wood at the weekend as the carpark and drive is crammed with cars. Most of these people are walking in the country with family and dogs not visiting loved ones. It appears that as little as possible is done at Clayton Wood now. Saddened and angry.
