Buyer beware. I bought a shrub trimmer which immediately failed. On returning it I was told they'd take a look and let me know straightaway when I could pick up a replacement. They never called back so I went back the following afternoon and was told they forgotten to call me back and didn't have another in stock and had “sent it off to the manufacturer for repair” and “I could come in again probably next week sometime”. I didn't have time to debate this further as I had my disabled wife in the car outside, so I left saying I wanted it delivered. Mulling it over I decided that I didn't want a 'repair' on a brand new item that I never even got to use! So I phoned for a refund. The woman there told me she wasn't authorised to refund my card so I'd have to wait till Monday. I became quite angry about her cold persistence about this, told her to expect a bad review and put the phone down on her. Somewhat predictably she instantly called back, having become magically 'authorised' and took my card number for a repayment. But not without first scolding me that was an “irate man” and then cutting short my apologetic attempt to explain that my anger wasn’t a personal attack on her but frustration at the way they'd dealt with my problem. No hint of an apology from them! **ADDENDUM** to AMP's response below: I completely deny anything amounting to abusiveness and I would suggest that it’s unwise for you to publish such ad-hominem comments about the character of your clients. I was angry but I did not swear or become abusive. My only “threat” was that of legal action - which as you point out would have likely been futile anyway. You hope that “fair-minded readers” will conclude that my review reflects more on my character than your customer service. I don’t think any readers will care about my character in the least but they might benefit before they buy from your clarification about your policy to repair brand new machines rather than immediately refund. A policy which I understand from the manufacturer (Stiga) is not one they adopt or that would have been the case if I’d bought this online from many other outlets.

Fantastic company to use for all garden machinery , all the staff are extremely helpful ,knowledgeable and offer great deals on all machinery and garden tools,they call you back within a hour if to busy,AMP are a very professional business and I will definitely be taking my mower there again for a service,special mention to the lady on the front desk,she was very helpful with my enquiry.

Excellent customer service and advice on buying a lawn mower, which was delivered within a couple of days. The lawn mower was all set up and was shown how to use it. Very good service all round, and very happy with the Hayter Osprey I purchased. Definitely recommend this company.
