Curzon Cinema & Arts bristol

Good old school cinema. Staff were friendly in this small town cinema and really enjoyed the experience. The screen is large and seats plentiful. The sound system is a bit dated but may well be because I'm used to the likes of commercial cinema. Bar upstairs is good and the cinema snacks don't break the bank. All in all a sound experience, would recommend.

This single-screen venue is worth a visit just because it's a well-known - famous, almost - legacy to a bygone movie era. Staff are pleasant and ye olde interior maintains the vibe that you are going back in time. But a glorious audio-visual experience it is not! I you want the full-blown, blockbuster experience, a modern-day venue is required. The Curzon falls well short if you judge it by today's cinematic standards. Yes, it's great to try and preserve this cinema's heritage, and support some local employment, but it's probably best considered as a very occasional trip, rather than the regular 'let's catch a movie tonight' outing. Movie choice is reasonably varied, though usually arriving well after release (understandably). Commensurate with facilities, entry prices are slightly cheaper than modern cinemas, but given what good value the latter are these days, you may think the Curzon is 'expensive for what you get'. There is free parking to be found nearby... and Clevedon is a quaint Victorian seaside setting that's worth an afternoon trip, pre-film, if you're coming from out of town.

You've got to say this is a fantastic cinema, straight out of the golden age of film. Superb!

A very good selection of films, apart from those times of the year when the usual dreary fodder is screened for children and adults who lack a a scintilla of taste. Also, a pleasant bar with genial staff.

What is there not to like. Welcoming staff, great relaxing bar, organist pre movie, comfortable seating. Why go anywhere else? Thanks for a lovely evening.

Film, absolutely lovely Seating, comfortable enough Majority of the staff, absolutely lovely There was a shorter women, with long gray hair who believed she had the right to be rude for no reason. I accept as someone who works in hospitality that sometimes customers can be hard. However, the audacity and gall of someone to think that a customers actions outside of their place of their work should allow them to discriminate against others is a choice. Not a positive one. I know this does not represent the Curzon, but a week later this member of staff has continued to play on my mind, won't be visiting again soon.

Fabulous old building and always a treat. Friendly service and bar area nice. Saw Bond, which was great. Seating good and auditorium fascinating. Would love to see it fully renovated and much better experience than most modern cinemas
